I've tried taking my vitamins in the morning with food, I've done the whole "with dinner" since I tend to eat a little more then. But it seems like no matter what I take it with, or when I take it, it makes me feel sick to my stomach!

Any ideas? My iron tends to run a little low and I've had a REALLY hard time getting the amount they want me to get through my diet (I end up eating the same things to stay within calories and watch the iron!)

I have a very very sensative tummy. years of iron pills and really stong meications really tore my poor tummy apart and even now that i am off all my meds I still have a sensative tummy :(

The best iron that I have found was a liquid supplement from a company called Floradix ( i think, its been a while lol) They also have other liquid vitamins but i have not tried those.

I remember it really helped and never upset my stomach It is expensive and you have to look in health food stores or get it online but it was so worth it fo me not to feel so sick everyday.

btw my doctor ( new doc who actually listened to me) is the one who recomended this brand

I don't like taking the supplements either, for the same reasons. Check out this website and see if there's any way to up your intake naturally: http://www.fatfreekitchen.com/nutrition/iron.html

    Good luck!

I take a women's One-A-Day for this exact reason. I also have had trouble getting more than 60% of my daily calcium intake, and my One-a-day has lots of that in it too. I'm sure it's somehow better to get these nutrients through food, but being that I'm restricted in my calories right now, I need that vitamin. I'd look into something like that if I were you. You could bring up the issue with your doc if fyou're not sure which supplement to choose. :flowerforyou:

As for the upset tummy, I've never had that from taking the ones I'm on, but I have seen others recommend taking it with a snack right before bed. That way you're asleep before the nausea sets in.
