Fat burning zone vs. Fitness zone

So I just got a heart rate monitor a few days ago... a polar FT7. And so far I LOVE it! It is exactly what I was looking for. However.... I have a question. When I am working out, and I look at my watch, it says my heart rate, and it says either, I am in the fat burn zone or in the fitness zone. So... here is my question... what is the best zone for me to be in? To burn a lot of calories, I need to have my heart rated up... so that puts me in the fitness zone. But does that mean that I am not burning fat? I am so confused. Can someone help me please. I want to do the best I can, and not hinder my weight loss. Thank you!!!

Ok great!!! Cuz that is what I have been doing.... but today it just got me wondering. I mean... my fat burn zone is like 120... and I was up in the 150-180s.... I just wanted to make sure I am doing good for my body and weight loss.0

apparently you start in fitness and then you reach the fat burning zone when you have made it past your tiredest and keep working through it, you burn straight fat. so i heard...0

Avoid excessively focusing on keeping your HR in a set place. In order to make gains you have to push yourself. Many people actually hinder themselves with HR monitors b/c they continually exercise in the "fat burning zone" and quickly reach a platuea.
So vary your exercises. Some days do intervals (HIIT) where you push your very hard, other days do long slow jogs in the fat burning zone (which actually isn't great for burning fat at all, but it does help with endurance).0
