How soon should you workout after being sick

I've been sick since Saturday night and just about at 90% now. I said I would wait till tomorrow to start back working out or is that too soon? What do you think?

Have you had a cold? I'd start back slowly, maybe a nice walk or something just to ease you back into it x0

Start out easy and see how you feel. A workout often makes me feel better.0

Yeah, I had a cold coming last week and had a workout outside in the fresh air.. It zapped mine completely lol but do becareful because your immune system is vulnerable x0 -
if i have a COLD I usually try to get back in the gym as fast and hard as I can. Than hit the Sauna and do my best to completely sweat it out of myself. Just my 2 cents on the subject. Not sure if this really works but it makes me feel better.0

Go with how your body feels. I know that's kind of ambiguous, but it's different for anyone.
If you're feeling 90%+ like you say, you could always go in with the intention of doing a lower-intensity workout. Usually, if it's nothing serious, once you start the workout you feel a lot better.
And if for some reason you still aren't feeling it, continue at the low level and at least you will have gotten some type of work out in :-)0 -
I think Jillian1104 has it right. Hit the gym/track/bike (whatever your personal style is) and plan on a lower intensity workout. If you feel good, ramp it up.
Personally, when I start to get sick I try and get a couple of hard pounding runs/rides in to force it out of me. If that doesn't work I start back as soon as I can and try and sweat it out like kt2007. That works for me though, might not work for everyone.

Is it just a cold? If that's the case, there's no reason to stop working out in the first place. A clinical trial was done where they gave volunteers (I guess college students will do anything) the common cold virus (rhinovirus). They then had half the group exercise and the other half not exercise. There was no difference in the length of the cold b/w groups. However, the group that exercised reported feeling better compared to the group that stopped exercising.
I personally decrease the intensity of my workouts a bit. But there's no reason to stop working out.0 -
@ahamm002 Nope it wasn't just a cold. I had muscle aches and everything. I couldn't even get out of bed at sometimes and my head was spinning when I tried to walk. Exercise was DEF a no no cause I did that on Saturday when it started and by Sunday yeah....I paid for it in the worst way0
