Polar F6 - some questions

I'm thinking very seriously about getting a HRM as I am motivated by numbers However, they are lot more expensive in NZ than in the US (NZ$250-$300), so I want to check a few things first with the MFP experts before I consider such an outlay.
1- Can you turn off the beep? I will just not wear it if it is broadcasting my HR being over or under my target zone to the world.
2 - Do you really have to return it to get the battery replaced? This seems ridiculous and costly.
3 - Can you upload your exercise from it to your computer?
Looking forward to your words of wisdom

I am sorry as I cannot answer your questions but have you tried looking on ebay or similar for a less expensive one?
In the shops in Ireland they range from €90 upwards but I found a good few sites offering it for a lot less..0 -
OK
1) yes (its in settings I believe, I did it so long ago that I forget)
2) Yes but the batteries last about 2 years or so, so it's not that big of a deal. If you really want one that you can replace the battery in, get the higher model, they have replaceable batteries.
3 yes, it uses sound actually but you put the watch near a microphone connected to the computer and the polar uplink program knows how to listen to the watch to get the sound it needs. It's pretty easy.
As to cost, did you look on Ebay? I realize shipping will cost extra, but depending on the cost, you could have one of us in the States buy it and ship it to you (A lot of ebayers won't ship outside the US or cost a crazy amount to do so)0 -
Thanks
I checked out buying it through the US, but it's the value of the NZ dollar that is the killer at the moment and the cause of the price :ohwell: If it was a year ago it would have been significantly cheaper. But I ended up getting an excellent price this afternoon and am wearing it at the moment  It's an early birthday present for myself!
And WOW on the uplink to the computer! Can't wait to try that!0
