I have set my calorie goals at 1,490 per day which works out to be 10,430 per week.(This is based on counting no exercise calories) If I go over one or two days a week but am under another one or two days a week and it totals up to 10,430 by the end of the week does it really make any difference?

Thanks everyone!

I do this on purpose, and it works out just fine :)
  • No - this is based on my experience though. I liken it to Weight Watchers Flex Points. I've even gone over a few days and not been under the other days and still showed some progress on the scale. This isn't an exact science... just try to do your best at being as accurate as possible. Good luck!

I do that and have been steadily losing weight, so I think it's just fine.

Long term calorie balance is what counts. The body doesn't work in 24 hr cycles

Some folks do it on purpose and call it zig-zagging. It's supposed to keep your body guessing. I don't know if that's true, but simple math would suggest that a rolling average at below a weekly calorie goal would be equal to meeting daily goals.

I pay much more attention to my weekly total than I do my daily ones. As long as I am on track for the week I don't worry about going over a day or two here and there. It has worked well for me.
