Recommended calories per day

I signed up for my fitness pal to keep track of my calories while doing the Insanity workout program. According to that nutritional guide, I can have 1,900 calories each day if I do my workout for that day, and this is according to my height, weight, etc. But according to this site I can only have 1,200 calories plus whatever my workouts are. The only problem is I don't know exactly how many calories I've burned doing Insanity so I'm not sure how to track this accurately and eat the right amount of food. Can anyone help?

You can use an HRM to get a more accurate read on your burn. Or just go with the 1900 and reassess after a few weeks, and adjust up or down as appropriate.

And congrats on starting round two! Did you get great results the first time? I'm in my 4th week of the first round.

MFP is designed for you to eat your exercise calories. So you're right in that it means that if you burn off 700 calories, you SHOULD be eating 1900 as the deficit is already built in.

I don't have a HRM but use this:

    http://www.braydenwm.com/calburn.htm

It's accurate according to people with HRMs.

You could manually set your calories to 1900 cals and don't and don't add excercise in there, just track calories from food.
