drum roll please:...........................
I ran in my very first ever 5K today and I RAN the whole thing!!!! I did not stop to walk and recover, I RAN!!!!! I am so proud of myself. It took me about 40 minutes, so I wasn't running THAT fast, but I WAS running!
I feel so accomplished.:blushing:
When I began getting ready for this around Thanksgiving, I could not run three minutes without huffing and puffing. I ran for 40 minutes straight today, the longest time I have ever spent running in my life EVER. I was so impressed by the half-marathoners, and I want to BE that girl, who is so fit and so healthy. I'm on my way!
I'll be signing autographs later, for whoever is interested.. :blushing:
YAY!!!!!!

Good work! Keep it up!
When I started to run again 3 years ago I could barely put one foot in front of the other - and I started slowly...walk 1, run 1 and I progressed to 5km, 10km and now I'm running in my first half marathon race in 2 weeks. Yesterday we ran 23km, and I remember we got to 10km and I thought "oh, 10km, that felt like nothing" - so imagine! from not being able to put one foot in front of the other to "10km, that's easy", you can train your body to do amazing things, you can do anything!
I am proud of you too!
Can't wait to hear about the half marathon you run!
Cheers!0 -
Great job!
I hope someday I can say the same thing!
You're an inspiration0 -

Thanks!!! I have signed up for a 10K race, it is in the end of March. It was such a good motivator to have the race hanging over my head (better train, it's coming!!) that I wanted to sign up for anther one right away. Any Bay area friends wanna join? It's called the Presidio 10, and it goes all over the Presidio area, including across the Golden Gate! Woo-Hoo!!
Once again, thanks to you all for the wonderful encouragement and kind words!:blushing:0 -
Great job!!! You motivate me! You can do the 10k, I can't wait to hear all about it!0
-
Wow! Congratulations on your 5K and good luck on the 10K! I am sure you will do fantastic! I am hoping to get to that point soon. You are a great inspiration!0
