"saucy" guy - love sauces/dressings/etc.; suggestions to sub

So, when I eat, I just love to add some sort of sauce, dressing, condiment, or what have you to my food. I guess I just don't like eating dry foods, but I love creating new flavors to old dishes, or just smothering something in a dip. Obviously, these carry a lot of calories, fat, and sodium, and these are the three main focuses of mine to cut back on.
With that being said, me and Ken's Light Honey Mustard will never part ways (my absolute favorite), but I'd like to be able to cut back on others. For example, when I eat a salad. Eating a 'dry' salad is like nails on a chalkboard to me. It generally ends up drenched in some sort of dressing. Delicious, but completely wrecks the rest of my day. Another example would be Italian sandwiches/hoagies. Love putting Italian dressing or a sweet onion sauce on it, sometimes to the point where it's dripping when I'm holding the sandwich. Like I said before, I just don't like dry foods.
Anyone have any suggestions on ways to substitute out dressings/sauces for healthier alternatives? Thanks!

I make my own healthy dressings!
-balsalmic vinegar, oregano, red pepper flakes, lemon juice
-olive oil, garlic powder, Italian seasonings, red pepper flakes
-apple cider vinegar, chili powder, salt
Basically, I mix together anything I can find- it generally ends up tasting great!0 -

Same.... I love white balsamic vinegar, wholegrain mustard + what ever you like at the moment I added mango jam for the sweetness with a dash of EVOO.... I put two teaspoons on my salad and the family can go crazy. Put it in a screw top jar stays in fridge all week....0

^^ See, stuff like this, I just wouldn't think of throwing together. But I can totally see that tasting good.
Not that we have a ton of stuff here (two college upperclassmen with jobs) but since we're both getting back into eating better I see many more meals at home (and more ingredients to play with!).0 -

We DO have Mrs. Dash (love it!) and fat-free ranch. Looking to expand my pallet while shrinking my waist, but thanks for the suggestion!0 -
Bolthouse Farms- they make dressings (they're found in the refrigerated section of the produce department where the bags of salad are). The dressings are yogurt based and SO good- I use them as dressing and also as condiments/dips- I especially like the blue cheese, honey mustard, ranch and asian vinaigrette- I think the highest calorie dressing has 50 calories for 2 tablespoons. Enjoy! :flowerforyou:0

I have a pantry full of vinegars, red and white balsamic, red wine vinegar, champagne etc, big botttle of EVOO... Then in the fridge mustards, chilli jams (or any jam for that matter... dried oregano is nice thrown in... you just have to get the balance right more vinegar then olive oil as once its on the leaves it calms down.0

I'm the same way... I use a lot of vinagers, my favorite is rasberry vinager, I also use greek yogurt a lot (where you would have used mayo or sour cream)

So many replies! Love it!
- Will definitely check out the Bolthouse Farms dressings.
- Sounds like I need to try out more vinegar-based dressings. I do like those, just never would go for them (before wising up on what I ate, of course).
- Salsa is amazing. Can't argue that! Loooooove a good salsa.
- Don't have a Trader Joe's, unfortunately (Florida). And I need to try hummus. Pretty much all of my friends like it (college students, go figure) but I don't think I've ever had hummus. And you are awesome for having a companion cube in your profile pic, btw.
- Just talked to the fiancee about using greek yogurt when making stuff at home. Definitely will keep that in mind!0
