Trans fats and aspartame are the only things I try to avoid, really. I've heard some bad things about aspartame.0

Lard
lizard tails
baby brains
roach feces
feces of any kind actually.

That's scaremonger rumours for you. Try looking it up for yourself, and you'll see most, if not all, of the "horrors" are purely exaggerated, unfounded, coincidental or purely made up.0 -
chicory root extract ( Inulin) gives me uncomfortable gas if I each too much.0
-
The wheat and soy part.
HMonsterX was being sarcastic, just FYI
Oh. It's hard to read sarcasm with text0 -
Sugar and its many derivative forms
Grains
Anything made in a lab.
We only eat whole unprocessed clean food.0 -
Trans fats mainly. Everything else in moderation!0

I have Celiac disease so the list is too long to type out. I just try to avoid processed foods altogether if I can. Makes it easier.0

I hoped it was obvious, as they said wheat by itself will add fat :laugh:0 -
Soy - linked to hormonal effects
Gluten
Additive sugar even if its organic all natural cane sugar
Any hydrogenated oils - I stick to using coconut oil, olive oil, and animal fats... bacon grease is oh so tasty
And pretty much anything I have to sound out or is in a package as much as possible.0 -
I avoid MSG as much as possible. I'm not sure why though. My mom and grandma both say that preservatives are the devil and they have both specifically mentioned MSG and lunch meats in general. I tend to tune them out when they start blabbering about their health problems, but then decades later wonder why I'm in the same boat. I am slowly learning to at least catch bits and pieces of the debbie downer parade.0

Is this the stuff in the Fiber Plus bars? If so, I have the same problem.0 -

My body hates Chicory Root, it's so horrible! One bowl of Go Lean Crunch and I'm doubled over in pain for the whole day. It gives me owie owie cramp gas. Bad Chicory Root! Bad!0 -

It took me a while to figure out what it is in the FiberOne products and Go-Lean Crunch!, the worst part is that I've read up on Inulin and because it is a soluble fiber it is supposed to cause the cholesterol in you bile to precipitate, so if taken with non-soluble fiber you could actually push out some cholesterol- just like a bile sequestering agent. Sounds great in theory but I guess I have to take it slow!0 -
Honestly, you can lose weight as long as you eat a deficit. For health reasons, I like to stick to whole foods and avoid refined sugary foods. I feel better and seem to function better when I stay away from processed junky foods.0

Another fun fact about Fiber One: some of their products contain cellulose. Which for those who don't know what cellulose is, it's wood pulp.
While wood pulp is deemed safe for human consumption by the FDA, it just freaks me out eating wood with my food.
IDK, I'm silly I guess.

The "Inulin" in Skinny Cow ice cream products doesn't bother my stomach at all, maybe because it's more processed or because it's much smaller amounts or something.0

I will be weary if it has more than 4g of sugar per serving, it depends on how big or small a serving is. If it is too small to enjoy its not worth it too me. I don't have sugar problems I just think if I don't watch it, I will be eating way too much sugar.0
