28 yr old, mother of two that needs to get healthy! Like many others, I have done the diet/exercise thing many times. After having my 1 yr old I lost around 40lbs. As of today, it's all back. I recently went to the doctors and explained that I have issues with losing weight. I explained that I get to a certain point and cannot lose anymore and how fast it comes back. After having 13 tubes of blood done I was called on Friday night and told.... Thyroid issues, borderline diabetic, liver function is high (need ultrasound), Polycystic ovary syndrome (seeing an endocrinologist) and cardiac issues that could cause a heart attack/stroke. A lot to take in? Yes, especially when you are 28!
After talking to the doctor and realizing most, if not all, of these "scares" can be fixed by weight lost. This time though, it needs to be taken seriously, not only do I need to lose weight to feel good about myself but to be here for my children and family. My total weight I would like to lose is a whopping 96lbs. Yes, 96lbs. Currently I weigh in at 256.9- highest I have ever been. Instead of looking at the big number I am taking it day by day and looking at my weekly number. If I can lose a minimum of 2-3 lbs a week, I am OK with that. Of course I want to be more than OK but I need to start somewhere! So here goes nothing and wishing the for the best!!!!!!!
