what goal to set?

according to all the charts and BMI calculators i should weigh around 154lbs but the last time i weighed that i was 15 and had just recovered from a bout of food poisoning! i'm nearly 5ft 9 and have always considered myself larger framed, but am i just kidding myself? i've never been any smaller than a uk size 14 on top and 12 on the bottom, i've always been curvy and liked it. unfortunately the curves are now too big and outwards!
i don't know whether to aim for a dress size instead of a weight, or if i should work out a weight i think i would be happy with and go from there.
thoughts please

I looked at the calculator and it says for someone 5'9" the high end of healthy is 169.3, me being 5'6", the high end of healthy is 154.9. What I did was set my goal for the high end of healthy and as I'm loosing see how I feel. I'm 6 pounds away from my goal but I may loose another 14 on top of that. I dunno yet. Right now I just want to reach the healthy margin.0

I think you should set a weight or body frame you like. The scale is just a number. If you are happy with what you see or how you feel then dont let some number tell you different. My goal is to be 150 but the BMI tells me I should be 130. Im a curve woman (top and bottom) and I love it.0

I just went through this myself and decided on a goal of body fat % rather than weight or BMI. I've got more details on my blog post ( http://shivaslives.blogspot.com/2011/10/personal-goal-setting-making-them-smart.html ) if you're interested in the detail. Good luck. the bottom line is to find something meaningful for you.0
