Being grateful

Im being grateful this a.m. Instead of thinking what I have to do to lose weight and be healthy, I am praising the God of my understanding, that I can do it. I have a brother that is paralized from the waist down, for going on 2 years now. He spent his whole life serving people, working hard, raising his one son, and then, he and his wife retired to Bend OR in their little dream house. He kept on working as a volunteer at the high-desert Museum over there. He loved the burro's the best, showing people around. He had a motorcycle accident, had ridden all his life. Now he is stuck in bed and can barely use his electric wheelchair because he's fought so much illness, infection etc. Maybe it will be good for me to think of those that don't have the chance I do here:smooched: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:

denise in Sams Valley OR
PS Clear and Sunny here!!! Here are a couple views I will see as I walk today, thank you Lord:heart:

Thank you so much for sharing with us this morning and prayers for your brother and his family.

I think we all too often take for granted the many blessings that have been given to us, especially the ability to live a healthy/active life. We grumble about doing our workouts...but what if we could never do them again...

Be present...this moment is all we are sure of...make the most of it...none of us know what may happen next....

    Blessings....:flowerforyou:

Well, I've lived in a lot of places in the US and there is beauty everywhere. I am a country person and don't like the city though. I know I am blessed to live here. I don't recommend my gypsy lifestyle to anyone, but I wouldn't not recommend it either. I have been single 11 years and travelled most of it. Just town to town and temp agency to temp agency. That's what I wanted to do. I am glad to be home in Oregon though, where I know people and have some relatives, atleast, in Oregon:wink: I still have that adventurous spirit and who knows what lies ahead, LOL!!! Wherever I am I will get to go a lot thinner next time, yeeeeehaw:wink:

beautiful pics! the road is my fav - looks like a postcard from happy land!

sorry about your brother. my ex bf lost his left leg last march in a motorcycle accident. he, unlike your brother, has bounced back almost 100% but just knowing someone who went thru what he did makes my heart break for your brother. what an awful thing, to become disabled.
