Does anyone else (particular female) have this problem?

So I have an HRM - the Polar F6. I love it.

But here's the problem. Being female, I can't place the strap directly across my heart. So I put it over my ribs. But in that position, it falls down constantly, and I'm always yanking it back up. I tried tucking it underneath my sports bra - and that worked!

Except when I take it off, I notice that I have completely scraped up my skin. I guess from the movement of the strap.

So ladies that use the HRMs with straps - how do you keep it in position without destroying your skin?

I don't know if they still have them around but when I was a runner I used a polar sports bra that had slits in it to slide the strap in. I found it much more comfortable then just the strap alone.
  • I wear mine extra tight to make sure it doesn't slip out of place. It just leaves a big indention around me when I take it off afterwards. HTH

I have the same problem. Came to a point where I was forming blisters (always at the same spot).
My only suggestion is a wax stick or a product similar to that one.
You can get them at running store like the Running Room. They are totally worth it but you have to be consistent with it and put it on at each workout. If you don't, your scrapes might get worse and your only solution at that point will be avoiding your HMR until you heal. That's what happened to me.
Now, I always spread the wax onto my sensitive spots and so far so good.

    Good luck! :flowerforyou:

    That's what I do!

I put it just under my braline. But the back of the strap does fall down sometimes. Luckily I work out at home in a sports bra so I can just pull it back up. I always have a pink mark left in the front for a little while after I work out too. I just make sure to take the strap off soon after I work out so I don't get a rash from it being sweaty.

I keep mine right under my "girls" and tucked in my sports bra. That helps to keep it in place. Haven't had any issues with it rubbing my skin raw or blisters and I wear it for 8-10 hours on Sat and most Sundays. It does leave an indent though. Maybe try to tighten it?

Yikes I've never had that issue with mine. :noway: I tuck mine under the bottom of my sports bra as well, but more for comfort than to keep it in place. Hope you find something that works! :flowerforyou:

I put mine right under the girls and make sure it's tight enough. I haven't had a problem, although it's slightly uncomforatable, but I get used to it.:flowerforyou:

I keep mine as tight as it will go. I think I'm going to first check for the Polar bra...then I'll try the wax thing. Thanks girls!

yes that looks like the bra I have! I liked it because I didn't have to have the strap so tight to keep it in place.

You could try some pro wrap. (Do they have that in the US?) It is supposed to be good for chaffing and blisters - among many other uses!

I put mine right under my bra strap. Occassionally I get some rubbing, but not often

I haven't had that problem either. I put it on right below where my sports bra ends. I don't get any scratching or rubbing.

I have worn one for 1 day, so my experience is pretty limited. So far I just put it on tight and it seemed to stay up well. I have it just at the base of my bra. It doesn't feel at all at risk of falling down, but I'm not a skinny minnie (yet  ) so that may help!
