I'm just about 20lbs off from meeting my GW. I'm so proud to have gone this far. I was in the 240's when I started, and now I'm in the 160's and can see the finish line. We all know these last stubborn pounds are the hardest to come off..so, I'm asking for those who have their last few to lose, or have reached maintaince, what have you done to get that last bit off.

I'm on my last 15 and have been in a plateau for about 8 months out of the year. I started eating more like the South Beach diet to help kick start weight loss again for me and I'm shooting to workout about 5-6 days a week--I run 3 days a week and do strength training (meaning I use dumbbells) yoga video 3x a week. I'm not at goal weight yet, but I can at least see changes happening. I'm starting to look more toned and my waist is a LOT smaller than it was even just 3 weeks ago. So, my best advice is to switch it up and do something that may seem extreme to help kick past that hump of those last stubborn lbs. AND DEFINITELY incorporate regular (2-3 days a week) of strength training.0

First off- CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!! THAT IS SO WONDERFUL...WHAT AN AMAZING JOURNEY YOU'VE BEEN ON!!!
I'm *inching* into the last stretch- just about 5 lbs to go....and I've slllllllowly had to start INcreasing my caloric intake, so I can get *used* to eating MORE
( OK< this STILL cracks me up...I NEVER thought I'd EVER see THIS problem)
Everyone I've talked to has said the same thing- this will be the HARDEST part of the journey...but you take it ONE day at a time,
just like the VERY START of this journey.
I've adopted a lifestyle that is reasonable for me to maintain the REST of my life- and that has included eating out, and not always being able to exercise......0 -
I also have my last 20 to lose and have been struggling with it. I've been doing a lot of reading and the general consensus seems to be increase protein (up to 1 gram per lb of body weight, no more than 175 grams per day) and weight train while slowing down on cardio. Seemed kinda odd to me at first, but they had a lot of info about the weight training burning up the fat while toning the muscle, I'm gonna give it a try. Whey protein is supposed to provide great muscle recovery when used before and after a workout. Casein Protein is supposed to be really good at filling you up and keeping you full. I talked to a guy at work who is into body building, he was pretty scrawny but kinda squishy when he started and now maybe 4 months later he's lost the squishy and the scrawny and you can really see his muscle increase. And he had the same things to say as what I've spent the last couple weeks researching online.0

as you know i too have been pretty much plateaued for the past 7 months!!! I have tried EVERYTHING to get this off!!!
my best advice to you is...make sure you are entering in accurate calorie burns...and then EAT BACK YOUR EXERCISE CALS(only from actually exercise though...NOT from walking around, house cleaning, or other daily activities).
and the 2nd thing....increase your protein intake!!! I thought I was pretty good with mine until I realized that I should be eating 1g/lb of lean body weight. In other words I weigh 122 with a 20% body fat, meaning that 98lbs of me is LBM,,,therefore my protein goal should be at least 98g/day!!! I was around 50-60, then I slowly started upping it and am now between 80-90 on most days!!!
since I have done these 2 things...I have slowly but surely started losing weight again...about 4lbs in 3 weeks...which is WAY better then pretty much nothing in 7 months!
JUST REMEMBER...YOU CAN DO THIS!!! IT WILL BE HARD, IT WILL BE FRUSTRATING, AND IT WILL BE A LEARNING PROCESS!! YOU EVENTUALLY WILL FIND SOMETHING THAT DOES WORK FOR YOU, AND YOU ARE GONNA WANT TO FIND SOMETHING THAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO MAINTAIN FOR THE LONG HAUL!!!! You can do it....never give up!0
