I’m going to be working abroad for 3 weeks, which basically means I’ll be staying a hotel so I won’t be about to cook for myself or go to my usual gym to workout.

The hotel I’ll be staying at has a ‘fitness facility’. I’m not quite sure what that means but there is some kind of gym, which I’m hoping to use.

I have already reached my goal weight so really now I’m trying to concentrate on toning up and maintaining my weight and fitness. I looking for some advice. What exercises could do at the hotel if the gym is useless. I’m thinking of maybe taking some resistance bands and my HRM with me.

Any ideas?

    Dont taxi, walk.

Try new foods. Since you'll be in a new environment, free from entertainment normals. You'll likely find that your bored in the off time.

WALK. Or run. Whatever. Maybe the gym will be pleasant. Dunno till you go!

But I wouldnt worry about it. Youve come this far, you know whats okay and not.

You can buy inflatable weights - you fill them with water - to take with you. I'd check your hotel first, though. They may have free weights in their workout facility. Push ups can be done anywhere as well as squats, lunges, etc.

take resistance bands for sure. walk everywhere possible. in your room you can do simple exercises like push ups, sit ups, squats, running in place, jumping jacks to get your heart rate up, etc. with the bands you will be able to add resistance to everything. wrap the bands around your feet, lift feet off floor and sit back on your bottom (only bottom on the floor) pull bands to your chest and do full body crunches for ab work.

Find a park nearby and you can use the stuff do different exercises: bench push-ups, step-ups and dips; monkey bar pull-ups. I have a set of exercise bands that I take with me when I travel. You can do just about any regular exercise with them. You can put them over a door handle and close the door then do chest presses or rows.

I guess it really depends on what type of exercise you are used to doing. I am a runner.

When I travel, I usually find any number of ways to exercise...Walking Stairs, push ups, sit ups, etc.

You could also ask the Hotel Concierge if there are any safe places to go for a jog, a walk or a swim.

Check out a local running store to see if they have any group runs in the area also works well.
  • Theyve gotta have some trails around there. Swimming pool? Or find a gym close by where you can buy weekly passes? Youtube video strength training using your own weight?
  • run the halls if you can. walk the parking lot. park a ways from where you are going. walk slowly to, in order not to sweat on your way to a meeting but bring different clothes so you can jog back, good luck, have a good relaxing time.

The bands are always helpful also push-ups, sit-ups, jumping jacks, or a workout dvd for your room. Also you can try to walk everywhere you go. the hotel should have some basic equipment like weights and a few cardio machines. Good Luck!
