! I'm Deb. I actually signed up about a month ago, but have been delaying using this site as a tool: I guess I didn't want to think about how little I'd been exercising and how unhealthy my diet was. I'm hoping this site will help me be more consistent and be patient with the process of getting healthy. Good luck to everyone!:flowerforyou:

Hey Deb! I was in the same boat: signed up in August of 2007 but didn't start using it until this October (and even then not so seriously until late-November) :blushing:
This is a great place to be and a welcoming community. You'll find that there are those people who are always around to answer questions and be encouraging... and it makes loosing weight and getting healthy all-the-more worth it.

Hi to ALL the latest "newbie's!
Between the easy to use food counter (which by the way is SUCH an eye opener!) and all the wonderfully supportive members, you WILL be able to lose the weight that you want to, AND, it'll "almost" be easy doing it!
I recommend logging ALL your foods BEFORE you have them, rather than later, as it tends to lead to better food choices. (not to mention you'll know if you've got enough numbers left to have a night time snack, like I ALWAYS try to do!) Some people also like to weigh and measure some things, such as meats, rather than just estimating and possibly being WAY off!
Also, drink lots of water, that seems to help alot too. :drinker:

Welcome Deb! I think the food diary was my first and best tool. Just seeing what I was eating and how much really motivated me. Plus, the mirror and half a closet full of cute, smaller, clothing I can't wear, LOL! I've learned tons here. Maybe I was just so ignorant but I didn't even know enough to realize I was slowly killing myself by dehydration:sad: I also was afraid of the "starvation" diets that seem to be the only thing out there, or surgery:explode: What lies! Anyway, I found out the truth here and I get to eat, lots and no torturous deprivation at all. Denise in OR :drinker: :drinker: :bigsmile:! I'm Deb.
