Setting your activity level

I have always had my activity level set to sedentary since I have a desk job. However my office has been doing the 10,000 steps a day challenge and for the last three days, without much exercise I've easily gotten over the 10,000 steps. My office is on the opposite end of the building from my boss so I spend a lot of time running back and forth to her office and I have a 5 year old. I have almost 2,000 steps before I leave the house in the morning. Should I change my activity level or just leave it as is?

I would leave it as is. It will only help you to be more active, but then you'll be relying on the extra calorie push from changing your lifestyle on here.

I would leave it as is. 10,000 steps is just to keep you healthy, and really represents a minimum. If you do more than 10,000, you might log in those extra calories burned as exercise if the number warrants it.

I wear my pedometer all day, but log in the steps only when I specifically go for a fitness walk with my dogs.

I'd consider changing it. I use the activity level of my job then add extra exercise.

You have to be at least as active as a "salesman or nurse"-lightly active, if not "mail carrier, waitress"-active

I was thinking that the 10,000 was a minimum for activity so I think just leaving it alone would be best unless I have serious walking for exercise to log.
