Hey Everyone,

I was very interested in buying a Body Bugg until I saw the price tag. So, I did some searching and found this place that will lease them by the month. The price varies depending on what services you want. I chose the basic and it's $39/month. This is a good way to try it before buying it. I just got mine in the mail today and can't wait to try it. Plus there aren't any contracts about min. rental time frame.

If you are interested go to: http://yhst-94108693241312.stores.yahoo.net/bodybugg-lease.html

Let them know Margie Splattstoesser referred you.

EEEEEEEKKKKKKK YOU JUST MADE MY DAY!!!!

I want one of these SO bad. But if I lease one for a month I can really accurately see what I burn most days. Awesome!!!!
  • That is exactly how I feel about it. Plus if I have to have one I can get one on Ebay used for way cheaper.

It's a calorie management system - little gadget that tracks actual calorie expenditure (or as close to it as you can get outside of a lab setting). There are two parts: an armband that you wear during all waking hours (except when you’re wet, so not in the shower or the pool), and a website that tracks the data. The big benefit is that it’s possible, with consistent food logging, to know exactly what your calorie deficit (and expected weight loss) is.

I just went on the website for the first time and I saw that question under FAQ. I didn't read the answer though. I do know you need a subscription to the website $14.95/month. The rental does have that price included though. I would start at the Frequently Asked Questions.

    Hope this helps.

Renting sounds good. Does it include the web subscription?

So if you still have to log your food (like you do here already), the main benefit is it gives you a more accurate gauge of your calorie expenditure daily?

How much do these run retail?

It does include the subscription. I have officially been using it for 1 day and I'm really pumped. A lot of good information.

I think they are about $350 retail. And yes, I log my food here & on there. It's kind of a pain but I don't think I'm going to rent one for more than 2 months. I just want to get a feel for how many calories I burn during specific workouts. Plus it's amazing to see how many calories you burn while you are just at work or even sleeping. It shows you the deficit & you can predict weight loss. It also breaks down your foods that your eating & it showed me while I'm eating less fat & consuming more calories, I am definately going over in Sodium.

There is a similar product at ****'s sporting goods for $200 ((or 5 months rental of the body bugg))
it also has a support website and works the same for half the price.

Anyone at my gym that has had a body bugg used it for 6 months or so and then stopped, either it quit working as well or it was just as much a hassle as just logging in your information etc. but if you are the kind of person that thinks having that strapped to your arm will make you accountable then you should research and buy the product that best suits your needs............keep in mind whether or not your rental price of $39 includes the website acess or do you still have to pay the monthly fee for the body bugg website support?
  • I definately think if you just want to try it to see if you want to buy it, it is a great idea. Or at least use it for a month or so to figure out your workouts. I wouldn't rent it for too long either. Otherwise you pay the same price you would to purchase. And it does come with the subscription.

I have been using it for a couple of days and I think it's great. I plan on using it for 2 months & then returning it. I should know by then all my different workouts calories.
  • The link you originally posted no longer works :( Could you repost where you got it from ? I'm very interested in renting because I think its possible that with my amount of muscle, my body burns more than I expect. I've been feeling quite fatigued lately !
