Has any one figured out how to log Popcorn? I must be nuts because I cannot understand their label. They give you calories for unpopped -- these are much higher than popped............ who would eat unpopped corn????
So, what do I log?
Orville Redenbacher's - movie theater butter - mini bag

The calories for popped should be on the label usually below the nutrition label in a little paragraph. They usually put an asterisk and then the info...I also logged in the other night the nutrition content under popped popcorn but for pop weaver. It is usually 20 calories per cup...:flowerforyou:0

I am looking at it now (for pop weaver), it says:
As popped 1 cup provides .5gtotal fat, 0g saturated, 0g trans fat, 40mg sodium, 3g total carbs, less than 1g dietary fiber, 0g protein. Calories is 20. I am not sure if yours will be a little more since it is the movie theatre one, might have more butter than the one from Pop weaver, light butter.

Thanks, but it's still confusing. My label says:
2 Tbsp unpopped, makes 5 cups popped (serving size per mini bag)
Calories: 210 unpopped
Calories Popped: 40 per 1 cup popped.
So, since a mini bag is 5 cups popped, should the calories be 40 X 5 cups?
And, I have a hard time believing that this little mini bag has 5 cups popped when done.... I put it in a small bowl......
See why I'm confused?????0 -
Maybe some of the popping oil/agent adheres to the bag thus leaving fewer calories?0

I understand your confusion...mine also says "2 tbsp unpopped makes about 5 cups popped" And that is for the regular size bag...
keep reading the nutrition facts down to where it says the iron percentage...then underneath that it usually says "not a significant source of vit A, vit C and calcium" Usually underneath that it will tell you the other nutrients in a cup of popped popcorn and just follow that. And you can also measure your popcorn after it pops to know exactly how much it yields. When I pop a bag I usually share it with my husband and I measure my portion (2 or 3 cups) Hope this helps. :flowerforyou: Oh and your grandkids are adorable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is my grandbaby in the profile picture with me.0 -
