I have a question for you. In the last year, I have lost 7 pounds (I know, that is nothing) but down a pants and bra size. I have done the 30DS twice, currently going to be starting week 3 of c25k, did Leslie Sanson 5-day slim down until I can't stand it anymore, 10 weeks of Zumba, WII, chase my 4 year old around every day/all day, etc. My diet has had a complete 180. Eating fruits and vegetables daily .....where before I don't know how I did not have scurvy. Only fish, chicken, chicken, pork tenderloin, salmon, chicken, etc. I have had red meat probably 10 times all year.
So why have my trigylcerides gone from 120 to 314!!!!! PLEASE tell me what I did wrong!!! HELP!!!!!

NOT a doctor, but I had a similiar situation. My doctor told me to eat low carb. After about 5 months my numbers were awesome.0

Not sure what those different diets you list are, but my friend is a doc and suggests you get a glucose test/diabetes workup because if you have any kind of insulin resistance the carbs could be contributing to fat accumulation. Also, if the weight loss was rapid and right before the triglyceride test then that might contribute to increased fat levels.0

also not a DR... but I am a nurse Are you using any protein supplements? I have heard that whey protein can reek havoc with both your triglycerides and cholesterol levels.0

Get it tested again. Low fat and periodic fasting can change fat metabolism with the body and release trigs temporarily into the blood. Stress, alcohol, the list is endless but generally speaking a lower carb diet does lower trigs bif time.0

Not a doctor....but a nurse. Genetics can play a role I believe. Does it run in your family?0

Thanks everyone! Got appointment with the doc tomorrow to discuss and redo blood work. No protein supplements. No red meats, high fats, alcohol, smoking, etc. BUT, at the time of blood draw, I was at or below 1200 calories for about 8 months. Wondering if my body wanted that extra crap?? Anyways, thanks for the responses and support. Gotta love MFP! Total strangers are there for you when you are freakin out! Thanks guys!!!0

I don't know. I agree about the low carb thing. People with high tris are sensitive to carbs.0
