strawberries galore... what to do?

I'm buying a flat of AMAZINGLY fresh strawberries, and am looking for some DELISH recipes to use them in.
bring on the low-cal shortcake, pies, sweets, jam, ANY kind of strawberry recipe you can throw my way. seriosuly, I will have so many it will be ridiculous. any low-cal strawberry recipe you have, throw it my way!
id love to make some SF jelly. any other sweets. breads. shortcakes. strawberry deliciousness.
and im sure i'll still have extra berries to freeze.

i absolutely LOVE just strawberries and vanilla ice cream- you can do frozen yogurt for a bit lower cal...but that is my favorite!!!! i lived in traverse city this summer and michigan strawberries are the BEST....we were eating strawberries and ice cream every night for weeks!!! :happy: enjoy your strawberries- but make sure to freeze some too!!! they are a great pick me up when you can't have them fresh!0

Im so jealous! We wont get the "farm fresh good" strawberries here until mid june.
I bought a big bag of frozen ones at walmart today tho. I LOVE them frozen for making smoothies.
You can freeze them easy by putting them on a cookie sheet in a single layer, then once frozen dump them into a freezer bag. This makes it easy to use a few at a time instead of having to defrost a whole container. Raspberries, blueberrys and peaches you can do the same with

One of my favorite things to make is strawberry shortcake. I use store bought or home made angel food cake instead of pound cake and frozen yogurt or fat free whipped topping. Yummmm yum!0 -
