Here's a super-interesting video about a virus associated with obesity. I didn't really know which forum to put this in, but there a couple tips about eating healthy vs. eating junk--so here it is!

for some reason, i take offence to this....:noway:0 -
In regards to a post :Just my opinion but obesity is caused by various things some to include lifestyle, stress, how one copes, how someone is raised etc etc....I think for a lot of people it has little to do with being lazy and more to do with the hustle and bustle of our modern fast paced world....in addition when "junk" is a lot cheaper than healthy fresh food some families have little choice but to choose the not so good options to make ends meet.0

Well said--the virus might be one more factor in a fraction of people that increases the tendency to gain weight. Right now just an association was seen between the virus and 30% of the obese people in the study who had the virus, but that doesn't mean it's a causal association. It's like cancer--a multifactorial process sometimes with no specific cause identified.0 -

So do I! Sometimes after having kids, life gets away from you and you are to busy! It's not just being lazy and eating junk. I eat fairly healthy myself...:grumble:0 -
I think that the doctors are trying to get the clinically obese people to come in so they can be lab rats for new meds and treatments. Only treatment there is if you don't have one of the medical conditions previously stated, is
1. Exercise
2. Eat Clean
3. Keep track of Calories
It didn't take people over night to get fat, it took years, well it'll take just as long or longer to lose weight.0 -

I really think that most of us didn't get to our present state by being lazy and eating junk, we just didn't have the correct knowledge on portion sizes. I didn't really eat much "junk" I just ate too much of everything else!0
