Here's what I'm eating

Here is what I'm eating today. Typically I have eggs for breakfast but I was in a rush today. This is what I have planned to eat, but I can see that I will be under in calories so I am going to add some foods. Also my exercise isn't figured in to this which will give me about 300 more calories. So I can see that I will need to eat about 580 more calories for the day. To get those I will probably add a banana to my lunch, have a small V-8 to my cheese stick snack, and then add a snack of almonds and raisins, Plus I will have spinach, onion, cucumbers and tomatoes on my sub.
This is what I do every day. I list my foods I know I'm going to eat. I look over my menu and see what's missing, do I need more fruit, fiber, protein? Then I add in extra snacks or foods to the meals to try to make my day's menu well rounded. This way I don't hit the end of the day and say wow, I have 800 calories to try to eat. I go over on my protein every day based on the guided goals set by the sight. And I sometimes go over the fat, but that is because I eat eggs most mornings and nuts most days, but the majority of the fat I get is "good" fat. Also I usually cook at home for supper, but tonight I have to stay in town for a meeting so I get to eat out. And yes I am having bacon on my sandwich, but I'm skipping the cheese on it. Most days I do eat a cheese stick. They are loaded with protein and really help keep hunger at bay.
I just thought this might be helpful to some of you just starting out and are feeling hungry. You really can eat a lot of food on 1300 calories, and lose weight.

Hello,
So what type of exercise do you do? How many calories are you burning during exercising and how many days a week do you workout0 -

lol The vegetable soup has hamburger (ground beef) in it. Not a lot just enough to give it a little something to sit in your stomach longer. I have no clue about your mom and pop soup. I would google it and see if you can find a recipe that sounds similar and see if the recipe lists nutritional value. If not you can type the recipe in to "sparks" and it will figure it out for you.
Good luck0 -
That's sound like a great day of eating! I also have eggs occasionally for breakfast.. But Started buying and eating Egg Whites/egg substitute to cut down on the cholesterol. (*Mine was climbing ). One 1/2 cup liquid is 60 calories and they scramble up nice and fluffy. Add your own fresh veggies (and if you crave some fat free cheese.) I also have a slice of 100% whole wheat toast occasionally if I'm craving bread. I also like grits or farina 3/4 cup cooked is 120 calories, then I add Splenda and cinnamon (cinnamon is suppose to help with blood sugar... I read). That really fills you up. Thanks ANNA BANANA and everyone have a great day! I lost another pound last night. Not eating after 6:30 pm and not eating my exercise calories. :drinker: :flowerforyou:0

Hello,
So what type of exercise do you do? How many calories are you burning during exercising and how many days a week do you workout
My exercise varies from day to day. Today over my lunch I will walk for 40 min and burn around 160 calories, then when I get home I will do 15 min of Calisthenics (push ups and core toning exercises) which will burn about 160 calories. Tomorrow I will do a 40 min DVD that is a toning DVD and I figure it burns about 350. The next day I will probably do my walking and Calisthenics again. Somenights we come into the gym and just play basketball with friends which is 300 calories for 40 min. I try to do something everyday, but usually only get something in 4 to 5 days a week. In the summer I ride horses everyday, which burns tons of calories.0 -

Hey I would talk to a cardiologist about eating whole eggs. Studies have shown that the cholesterol in the yolk isn't really that bad for you. And it contains tons of nutrients.0 -
Looks like a great plan, but I also like to incorporate a fruit or veg into each meal too. This is what I am eating today:
Breakfast
1 wholegrain muffin
1 slice turkey bacon
1 babybel
½ cup berries
Snack
½ cup berries
½ cup cottage cheese
Lunch
1 egg
1 slice wholegrain bread
Mixed salad
Snack
1 orange
1 Babybel
Dinner
Grilled salmon
3 mushrooms
Spinach
1/2 yam0 -
Oh, Salmon sounds soooo good.
Last time I made it, I made a black bean, corn salsa (1 can black beans, 1 can corn, 1/2 small jar favorite salsa, 1 tbls sugar). I took a sheet of foil, then put about 1/3 cup of salsa mixture on the foil then place salmon on that, then put about 1/3 cup of the salsa on top of the salmon. Then wrap up the foil and grill. We served it over rice. It was amazing.0 -
Thanks Anna Banana! This is what I just found on the net... (My Dad's cardiologist/had a heart attack 18 mos ago-had him decrease eggs to 3/week. Maybe because of the fat content?)
From website Fit and Trim.co.uk, came up Comcast.
A typical egg contains 80 calories / 80 kcal
Other nutritional information for eggs (per 100 grams raw):
Protein: 12.58g (*gets reduced after cooking...)
Fat: 9.94g
Carbohydrate: 0.77g
Sugar: 0.77g
Calcium: 53mg
Iron: 1.83mg
Potassium: 134mg
Sodium: 140mg
Zinc: 1.11mg
Selenium: 31.7 microgram
Vitamin C: 0mg
Calcium and potassium- didn't realize that! Just the fat content is high side. Almost 10 full grams.
Here is the Egg Beaters.com Nutritional Information:
Are Egg Beaters as nutritious as whole eggs from a shell?
While the traditional whole egg delivers a variety of important nutrients, it also contains 5 g of fat, 75 calories, and a hefty dose of cholesterol—about 210 mg per large egg—all of which is found in the egg yolk. In contrast, Egg Beaters Original is actually more nutritious than traditional whole eggs. By eliminating the yolk (except in With Yolk and flavored varieties), all of the fat and cholesterol and more than half of the calories are cut out. In addition, the product contains greater amounts of important vitamins such as A, B-12, D, and E, as well as other essential nutrients such as folic acid and riboflavin. Each serving of Egg Beaters also has 6 g of protein, which is just as much as you'll find in one large shell egg.
So I guess if you want to save your daily fat grams/day and calories for another meal you can eat Egg Beaters. ( I try to watch high fats and carbs. In regards to nutrition I also take multi-vitamins twice a day, calcium 2x/day and Vitamin D3 and my energy and immune system has doubled. I have 2 children in pre-school who are always sick/ 1st year in school. Knock on wood this is the first year I haven't gotten sick with anything... ) Everyone have a great day!:flowerforyou:0
