Hi everyone, I am just starting out and own both programs. I have about 40 pounds to lose and not sure which one would be best to start out with? I have read mixed things. Since I am no in the best of shape, I am thinking of starting out with Chalean extreme and adding in some additional cardo on my off days and moving on to turbo fire as I progress. Does anyone have experience with both programs? Which one do you suggest?

I am doing a hybrid of both. You might want to look into it. Gives you a day of strength, then a day of cardio, and so on. I love them both, and they are completely different workouts. Good luck!

I have lost all my weight on Chalene's workouts! 80LBS worth! I love them all....I would suggest doing Turbo Fire & CLX at the sametime.....I lost my first 40lbs with Turbo Jam and my last 40 with TF & CLX.

Did you do the hybrid schedule or just both programs together? and 80 lbs? That's amazing and so motivational! Congrats :)

There is a hybrid schedule for using both programs in the Turbo Fire book. That's what I've been doing. I love them both!

I have Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire, and I love both sets. The Turbo Fire set had one workout from Chalean Extreme, I guess to make you want to buy that too, so I've only done one workout from that set. If that one workout is any example, then I would have to say I wasn't impressed with it. But remember, that is just the one workout they added as a bonus on my Turbo Fire set.

Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire are calorie-burners but so much fun. Have you tried eBay to find it cheaper than it is sold from Beach Body? I didn't spend anywhere near as much on my set because I found it on eBay. Just a thought.

I am doing the hybrid schedule right now. I suggest giving that a try. The 1st 3 weeks start you off without insane intensity of the TurboFire workouts so it progresses.

I have both programs and they are great... You just do a hybrid of the two or like me I just do my own schedule.. I get bored quickly, so I like to vary my workouts!... Good luck!

I am currently doing CLX but since I'm not yet coordinated enough to hang with TurboFire, I am adding in TurboJam. ;o) I hate feeling like I don't know the moves and or can't keep up so I figured that by doing TurboJam, I'll get the moves (and prompting names) down at a pace I can handle while learning and then move on to TurboFire when I'm more solid and can follow Chalene's prompts better. LOL

I really really REALLY like CLX. It's a good intro to strength training and I'm in my second month right now. I've noticed, particularly this past week, how much my body has changed and is reshaping. LOOOOVE IT! The pounds don't come off quickly with this, though, so be warned...I hear that you'll lose the most weight during the last phase. (To date, I've only lost about 6-7 pounds but my body looks WAYYY different!!)

I think it depends on how coordinated you are. I love dancing/kick boxing, etc. so picking up the moves in Turbo Fire has not been such a challenge. The program itself, IS CHALLENGING,which is why I like it! I'm doing Turbo Fire and will probably do the advanced DVDs as well. Then I plan to do a hybrid of Turbo Fire/ChaLean Extreme. When you purchase TF included is the hybrid program info so you know exactly what workouts to do.

I think I'm going to start out with the hybrid just so I don't get bored. I like the idea of the strength training but I love the energy and fun of turbo fire. I'm addicted to infomercials so I already own both programs :). I suppose I can always add/take away as I need!

Don't forget to try the "new to class" option in Turbo Fire. She breaks down the moves for you so you know what's going on. It helps!

I should warn you that you will have the songs stuck in your head all day long after a workout too!

I agree on the hybrid strategy since you own both. Also, thanks to TurboFire, I get an all new level of amusement from the new Old Navy commercial with 'Wiggle It" in it.

Do Hyrid version. I'm in the same boat like you.
I did Extrme for the 1st 3 weeks then I decided to do the hydrid version so I just do week 4 in hydrid version.
If you want to chose one, do Chalean Extreme 1st since muscles can burn fat 24 hour.
I suggest the 1st week, don't do heavy weight, try to focus to do the form correctly.

I have done both programs - and agree with the advise given! I did TF first then Chalean Extreme - but while I was doing CHX, I did throw in some TF workouts to get more cardio - so a hybrid would be a great way to go.

I was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed CHX - and how effective it was - man alive! My arms - lean and defined! And TF - hello core and lean defined abs!

    Both programs totally rock!

If you've done TurboJam - TF is faster, but it is based on the same set of moves so it will all be familiar.

I'm totally a product of these workout programs and I love the way I look and feel today!

I'm also starting a TurboFire group up on Nov 25 - I willl from the group page, but let me know if anyone wants to join in!

If you own both do the hybrid version. If you feel it is too much then cut back and do just one. I love ChaLean Extreme if you were to do just one as it has the strength aspect which is very important. You can add more cardio in to. But I think the hybrid should be just fine.

Turbofire KILLS my knees! So much jumping, jumping, jumping!! I think it is fun, but if you have crappy knees or joints like I do I would try something else!
