Hey all!

Quick question for you crock pot experts....I am going to attempt to make ( no recipe ) Chicken Wild Rice soup in my Crock put this afternoon. Any tips? My main questions is do I need to cook the rice first, or just throw it in uncooked with everything else??

Thank you!

Jenna

    LOL

You throw it in uncooked, yes -- use a low sodium chicken broth base. Cook down the stock with chicken, veggies and rice -- don't add your cream (or milk I suppose) until the end!!! and use flour to make it thick. I like my chicken and wild rice to be creamy and thick. :)

I think that Mrs. Dash or some other premade seasoning mix is a GREAT addition to most soups.

Well, you could add about a cup of milk (since it's healthier than cream) and I would say a few tablespoons of flour :)
