I can't exercise, my knees hurt to much.

Well since articulation need movement (up to a point) to be healthy, just walking will really improve the pain.

I have asthma

Improving your repiratory system will help, go slowly, use your inaler.

I am not very good at sport and I hate it.

Forget high school's traumas and find something you like. You do not have to be good at it. you just have to do it.

I can't walk without feeling pain

I see people with 300 pounds to lose get out and walk, if they can walk 1 km with the equivalent of a fridge on their back, so can you.

I hate vegetables

I hate doing my taxes but I still do it LOL. Find a way to cook your veggies that you will like. Try new things and do what your parents didn't when you were young

I am too tired

I understand tired....I have narcolpetia!!! The more I exercise, more energy I have in my everyday life

I do not have time

You do not need to exercise for 3 hours a day. 30-45 minutes is plenty and if you have the time to sit on your butt to watch tv, you have time to put on an exercise DVD

Tell me that you do not want to exercise, that your health is not a priority, that you just do not want to do it but stop with the excuses.

So what exuses do you get from those around you?

"I don't want to give up fast food." You don't have to, I've lost plenty and I still eat fast food.

"I don't want to do it by myself." I have to do it by myself, and/or we could work out together.

Those are the two I hear the most, which is frustrating to hear. lol
  • Awesome post! So true and honest. Thanks for posting
  • great post - I know someone who was over weight most of her life and constantly complains about knee, hip & back pain as being the reason she can't exercise. I love her to death so I would never tell her that everything hurts because she is over weight. She had a big health scare a few months ago and I was shocked that none of the doctors she saw blamed what happened (heart/breathing/blood pressure issues) on being over weight. Has it become so taboo that even a doctor can't tell you your fat and need to lose weight?

Oh yeah and I always hear this one "I don't have room to workout," It's like make room! You'll feel better if you clean anyways and everything isn't so cluttered.

I totally blew my diet last weekend so counting calories obviously won't work for me.

I don't have time to count calories.

I'll make my friend, my spouse, my boyfriend/girlfriend, my family mad if I don't eat large portions of what they make.

Do you think maybe the doctors did say something to her but she didn't want to tell you? Maybe she didn't want to admit it was because she's overweight. Just a thought

I also find it odd when "no time to exercise" = I can't eat at a deficit either.
