Does running make anyone else really hungry?

I've been running more lately. I'm doing 30-40mins 4-5x a week but it seems to have really increased my appetite. I have been really hungry the last two days. Anyone else experience this?

Not sure, but is it your metabolism kicking up because of the increased running?0

Yes! I get really hungry when I do any kind of exercise really... That's good b/c it means your burning more calories. :happy:0

yes and no. i'm hungry like an hour later, and i'll eat anything in site. immediatly after a run my body does not want any solid foods. so i have a fruit smoothie with protein poweder. you should try it to help with any cravings.0

Burning calories does tend to make you hungry. It's why exercise usually doesn't work for weight loss without some sort of calorie-counting.0

This. I am not hungry at all right after I run--I usually just want to drink something. But about an hour after running then I get REALLY hungry and want to eat everything.0 -
I get hungry about 45 minutes to an hour after any sort of workout I do!0

I think that if you are hungry, eat. Just make sure you are eating something healthy.0

Anytime I do a heavy cardio workout my appetite takes off like crazy. Guess it's my body trying to make up the water and calories. At least that's the theory I'm sticking to.0

I actually don't get hungry after a run - but I do get hungry after long run/walks... after a run I just force myself to eat because I can feel that my electrolytes are imbalanced if I sweated a lot but if its at night I can hold out for an hour after a nice shower.0
