I love to people watch too, but I need somebody to explain the rugar thing to me... somebody is brining guns to the gym?
No, it was an earlier post referring to the gun I'm shooting in my pic. One poster spelled it wrong and someone corrected them :noway:

Ah so it was about guns, I'm never up on internet slang so I thought I was missing something :p Thanks for explaining!

Is pretty arrogant to assume they thought they were hott too.

    You're right.
I assumed that since she had all her make up done (enough to share with a couple friends) Her hair was styled and sprayed with hairspray (there was no movement) Her pink spandex shorts (that were a bit tight) and her crop top that had a very suggestive saying, just kinda hinted that maybe, just maybe she was looking for attention might have been a mistake on my part.
Thanks for getting in my head and knowing ALL the details :-)

You're welcome. Just because someone doesn't want to look like heated up crap when they go to the gym doesn't mean they think everyone thinks they are hot.

You guys need to lighten up. It's just a "fun" post - why take it so serious and "attack" the OP. Oh wait, you probably will say that you're not attacking. You're just giving your opinion because this is a free country and you have the right to your opinion. And yes, this is a public internet forum so people should just expect for you to share your opinion at any time whether it's rude or not.

    It's always the same folks . . .
  • I don't really people watch - I trainer watch. I figure if I'm at the gym, I might as well pick up a few pointers!

I try not to judge people, I'm guilty of looking at myself in the mirror at times, usually to see if I can see a difference from the week before, or jsut how badly my poor bum and thighs are jiggling :embarassed:

Does it matter if someone thinks they are attractive? Maybe she had a spot on her chin and was checking it wasn't visible.

Okay, I saw you spend over 30 minutes on the treadmill. You worked up quite a sweat. You also managed to watch everyone around you. Then you went to the stairclimber, where once again, you worked up quite a sweat.
I find it funny that as you walked away from these machines you thought everyone was watching you. (okay they were) BUT they weren't watching you because they thought you were hot. They were watching you because you didn't wipe down the machines when you were done sweating like a pig all over everything.
Oh yeah, and do you think your friend noticed that while the 2 of you were talking that you made little or minimal eye contact because you were too busy looking over her shoulder to look at yourself in the mirror behind her?
I love to people watch, but man, that's just arrogant and rude.

    <sigh>
    :grumble:

    You are very judgemental...

I spent many years reassuring my aunt who was in her 60s at the time that the young people in the gym were to busy working out to be judging her for learning the machines and using them. It is fun to people watch and speculate; it is good to wipe down the machines (but prophalactic cleaning before use makes a lot more sense), etc. etc. Now that I am in 50s, I ask the people watchers judge me compassionately. My balance is slightly off, my gym clothes not too trendy, I wear makeup if I'm coming from work;. If you are judging just remember to do it subtly and don't scare away people who need those machines.

I love watching people in the gym and out in the parking lot (our cardio machines face the parking lot). Just this past Thursday a woman climbed into the backseat of her car and proceeded to change into her sports bra and shirt. I'm pretty sure she knew everyone could see in, since she didn't bother to shut the door. LOL

I am sure you'd do this for ANY and ALL in the gym huh? You'd be really busy.

i think he means if he was using the machine next he'd wipe it off if need and not make a big deal out of it.
  • Our gym has the majority of the weight room upstairs and our cardio stuff downstairs--the treadmills etc-- and that room is covered with mirrors. It also has TVs so people don't really people watch in that part of the gym, but it sure is funny when you accidentally make eye contact with someone who is just as sweaty as you are. I just try to stare right above the mirrors, at the TV, or directly at myself- unless there is someone on a machine in front of me then it looks like I'm staring at them!
There are always going to be a few people watchers and you'll always get a few chuckles to yourself about your opinion; and there will always be people looking (again in your opinion) slightly more done-up then necessary for getting sweaty.
To each their own I say!! ^_^
