Treadmill slipping?

I walk/run on a treadmill at home, and it seems like I "slip" a lot... which makes me have to work harder to try to keep up. Does anybody know what causes this? It happens at all speeds, because I tried to see if maybe I just was going to slow or too fast or something, but that's not it. It's frustrating me beyond belief, to the point to where I'm going to just get rid of the dang thing. Any help is appreciated.

I noticed this at the gym also, I thought it was just me but some do slip. Can you tighten the belt?

Is it the belt slipping? The belt may need tightened or adjusted. I had the same issue.
  • My ever-so-handy husband fixed this on my treadmill....there is an adjustment on the end roller (non driven side) that allows you to increase the tension on the belt.

Hi. You need to find your manual (or google for one) to find instructions on tightening the belt. On mine I have to use a Hex (alen) key and turn a nut in the end of the platform clockwise a 1/2 turn at a time. Just be careful cause if yours is like mine then that adjustment will alter the straightness of the belt and if you go too far it will keep moving to one side of the platform which is equally frustrating.
    Hope that helps :)

If it is still under warrantee I'd call them out. Check the instructions if you have them and see if there is any preventative maintenance listed that you can do yourself. Lubricating spray, etc.

    Thanks guys :)
I know it's not the speed, because it was happening even at like 2 and 2.5, when I'm warming up.
