Low Cal Hollandaise Sauce

Haha, low calorie and hollandaise sauce aren't two words i'd find in the same sentence. It's a butter-based sauce, so I think you're out of luck for the most part. Just have it as a treat one day and exercise a little more than normal (is my recommendation)!0

I have a great recipe but it's certainly not low cal. I have seen a mix that you just add water at the grocery store, but I've never tried it.0

I agree, dry mix and add water. Won't be as good, but might help the craving.0 -
Check the Cooking Light website. There are a few out there. If you make the higher calorie recipe, limit it to one or two tablespoons. You don't need more with the butter! Good luck!

I had checked out the Cooking Light sight before I posted this thread. I decided that their version wasn't that much lower in calories than the full Betty Crocker Recipe. So this morning I made myself Eggs Benedict without the muffin and it was super delicious. The sauce turned out to be 80 Calories a TBSP and I only used 1.5 TBSP on my 3 poached eggs over Canadian Bacon. All in all the macros played out like this:
Calories-390
Protein-30
Fat-29
Carbs-4
Sodium-753

I too had a craving for eggs benny this morning...
I searched for a bunch of different recipes online, and combined aspects that sounded good/healthy from each. Kindof winged it, but it was AMAZING.
1 C. Nonfat milk
1/2 C. Plain yogurt (I used greek yogurt)
3 Egg yolks
1 Tbl lemon juice
1 tbl butter
1 tsp dijon mustard
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried dill
Whisk all ingredients together into a double boiler. Stir frequently.
The best part: I used the 3 egg whites to make my benny. I'm a vegetarian, so I skip the canadian bacon. I added spinach and the cooked egg whites over the English muffin. The whole meal ended up being only 400 calories, and is REALLY flavorful and filling!
Hope this helps.0 -
jillian has one! I didn't like it though. I just incorporate it into my day.0
