For those of you who started as a size 24, what size are you now, and how long did it take you to get where you are now? How did you get there?

Yep, size 24 was the past. Today it is an 18.
It took about 15 months, my doctor ordered a slow weight loss so that I don't rebound.0 -
Size 24 to a size 14. It took me around 12-14 months. I have big hips so I don't think I will get too many sizes smaller.0
-
Size 18 - Size 10 -12, took 10 months but LOTS of intense training.0

I started at a size 24 I weighed about 250, I now wear a lose 20 or 18, I refuse to go shopping until I hit my next goal. I have lost 32 lbs and I started at the end of May. I started weigh ins at 244.8. It has been alot of hard work, I walked alot, 5 or 6 days a week this summer an average of 2-3 miles including a hill, I also started jogging some. I also changed my portion sizes.. The biggest help has been being here on MFP and having a group to support me, we have weekly challenges and we have been doing this since about July I think. Good luck to you!0

Was a 24...now a 20.....took 2 months to get here.....but going a lot further!!0

Started at 24, border line 26, now I'm at 18, which is HUGE on my legs, so I'm gonna start wearing 16's; they fit my legs, but the button hangs open! haha
Took me forever to lose, but I'm just weird like that. Main point to the lose was to straight up give up soda and fast food. Huge improvement, it's not even funny.0 -
January 2010: size 24
September 2011: Size 14
Woohoo!!0 -
I was actually a 26 pushing a 28 but wouldn't cave in.
It's taken 2 years really or since I was that size but I'm now a 14. I've probably been this size for 6 months only becaue I haven't really pushed myself recently.0 -
In high school I went from a 24 to a 14 (40 lbs lost) in about 4-5 months, I then lost an additional 40 lbs and remained a size 14 (go figure). It's not happening so quickly this time around though.0

I was a 24 just this past july, I have lost 26 pounds and now can wear 22's and some bigger 20's still have a long way to go but mfp rocks and is a great tool!0

September, 2012... 313 lbs., size 24 (height: 5'8)
August, 2013... 254.6 lbs., size 16 and still on my way.
Total loss: 58.4 lbs.
When I started this process, I was so ashamed of my weight that I lied on my MyFitnessPal profile! I totally regret it because my weight loss hasn't been tracked correctly.0 -

You can go in and add a previous weight, even one before starting myfitnesspal.0 -
I started in a 22 and am currently wearing 13/14. It has taken around 9 months and 50 pounds to get that far, at a very slow weight loss pace (avg 1 pound per week). Also a very very pear shape, so I'm not sure how small those hips could really get, but I'm pulling for a single digit.0

Started as size 26 - 52 weeks later I was in size 14 :-)
good luck - it is so rewarding - and the benefits and "feel good" starts way before you get to the "end", so dont get despondant about how far away it seems - every dress size down is a major cause for celebration - and shopping for cuter clothes :-)
How - Eating around 1500 calories a day - and about 50% of my exercise calories (Heart Rate monitor measured)
Lifting heavy things 4 times a week - and High Intensity type cardio - lots of time on bike and elliptical0 -
I was a 24+, now 14ish. It's taken about a year and a half and I still need to lose about 50 pounds. I hope to be in a size 8-10 when I finish, which might be another year or two.0

Size 24 was my past and I am currently a size 12. It has taken me 2 years0

previously a 24/26 now I can fit a 18P..I want to try a 16P in the next 10lb or so..its probably taken me 6mths to really drop the weight total..hard to say because it took a long time to figure out thyroid meds.0

size 22/24 in June of 2011
size 8/10 in September of 2012
It took around 15 minutes. I would say I'm a solid 10 now, though I have clothes in my closet that fit ranging from 6 to 14. Pics in profile.
For the record, it's a hell of a lot more fun shopping now.
edited to add: I just noticed this thread was started in November of 2011. Sadly, the OP's ticker still says 0 pounds lost. The years will pass whether you make a change or not.0 -
I started as a size 24W, headed into a size 26W, and now 10 months later I am a size 20- (not a 20W), my soft goal is size 16 and a much harder goal is 12-14- so I am halfway to my stated goal!!0
-
I am now a 16 and it took me about 5 months with 60 minutes of aerobic cardio and 30 minutes of strength training 6 days a week.0
-
Size 24-26 and now a 20 after losing 50 pounds over the last 19 months. A long way to go to size 10 but I will get there!0
-
22-24 and now a 16 two years and counting!0
