Hi Everyone

I am hoping you can help me. I am making some homemade chips tonight in my Actifry but I have no idea how to work out the correct calories for them.
I looked on the database and it only seems to show chips which are cooked in fat or oil etc.

The wat I make them is I cut up potatoes into chunky chip like chunks and put them in the Actifry with a a few sprays of Frylight spray.

Also would I be better to weigh the chips before cooking or after to get the correct weight for the calories?

Thank you

use the nutrition information for the amount of potatoes you use and add the nutrition content from however much spray you use. I always use raw weights, but some others may disagree - I don't think it's a whole lot different.

i do these all the time! weigh your potatoes, and enter generic white potatoe and how many grams each ( weigh after peeling) measure your oil out on the actifry spoon, 1 spoon = 15 mls. its comes under generic olive oil if thats what your using. I often add schwartz curry powder so i use the actifry spoon to measure thatto. Hope this helps. they are wicked with curry powder mixed in the oil, marmite (which i usually hate) different oil are good too like sesame oil, garlic oil. can experiment loads x

You may add your ingredients raw as a recipe and divide them in portions. That's what I do most times when I do variations by reducing fat/oils from standard recipes.
  • Hi Stacey.

I would chop up the potato's into the chips. Weigh them, then work out the cals in the weight. Then add on how many sprays of frylight. Then divide up inti portions accordingly if your sharing with hubby. Thing is with potato unlike pasta, rice and cous cous the weight wont change much during cooking as it wont be absorbing water so shouldnt make a huge amount of difference if weighed after
