Metamusil/Benefiber Shape?

Just wondering, has anyone acutally used one of these items for the aid of weight loss??

On the advice of my doctor I started using Metamucil to aid in some digestive issues I had after a hysterectomy, it's ok but best drank quickly. Added Benefiber to the household to get more fiber into my hubby who needed to boost his fiber intake to fight cholesterol. Different type of fiber called Inulin that dissolves completely in whatever you put it in, so if you hate texture or the thickening you get with other fiber stuff then Benefiber is for you. And yes, if feeling hungry is an issue, fiber definitely helps quiet that noise without adding a bunch of calories to your diet.0

My doctor recommended having Metamucil/water with breakfast and one in the evening to help aid in digestion and keep from "getting plugged up". He said sometimes that happens. Also, he said it can help cut late evening snacking. He had also warned me that it can add a little extra weight on the scale from bloat or gasiness if your body isn't used to getting a large amount of fiber. I use it in the evening just to keep everything going and haven't experienced any negatives from it.0

Yeah, thanks everyone for the replys. I want to add more fiber cause im not "regular" and where i want to lose weight i figure rather then the reg. benefiber id use the "shape managment" one, it says it caust back on the bloating and gas. But i dont want the # on the scale to go up because of that (with Abjel628 comment)
I workout everyday (minus my rest day) and i eat healthy but i dont eat near enough fiber i know this.0 -
I have not used it as an aid to weight loss. I guess one could try it as a way to feel fuller longer since it is a fiber supplement. If someone was using it as a laxative it would not help you #1 because it is NOT a laxative and #2 that is not a healthy way to lose weight (you'd only be losing water and electrolytes anyway--not fat).0

I def. agree, 110% would not use it as a laxative, def. not a way to lose weight, not a healthy weight loss at all0
