For anyone who doesn't know what this is, it's a very specific 26 yoga postures in a room heated to 105 degrees with 40% humidity.

My wife and I have been doing it for about 4 months now. It's hell when you're in there but it has really increased my flexibility and my core strength. It's great for fitness and weight loss too however, I think most of the weight loss is water!!

So does anyone else partake? What are your thoughts? Has it helped you reach your goals?

I'm going to my first class tomorrow night... I'm not going for the weight loss benefits though as I'm guessing it'll mostly be water weight. I'm going because my dance class is finished until February so I need something to maintain my flexibility over the summer. Any weight I lose will be a bonus!!

I've been going for about 5 months - not just Bikram but a hot yoga place that offers a bunch of different types of hot yoga (Hatha, Power, Ashtanga, etc.)

I absolutely *love* it but I haven't been able to get anyone else to go with me as much as I like to haha. I aim for around 3-4x a week, and no one I know likes to sweat that much!

I've never tried it, but I know my yoga instructor when I was in school wasn't really a proponent of it. Apparently the heat can make you over estimate how flexible you are and you're more likely to get tearing and injure the muscles. I also don't breathe well in high humidity and heat, so I don't really think it's my cup of tea. If I wanted to do hot yoga, I'd go do it outside during the summer since it was seriously 105+ all summer. I love yoga, but I just don't really see that branch being something I could get into.
