Today, I finally broke the 250s. I've been stuck in the 250-260 lb. range for nearly a month... going up a little, down a little, water weight, not enough sleep, etc etc. I stepped on the scale this morning at 247.2 lbs. and I am STOKED!
For me, this is a very big deal. The only time I've been recordably thinner than this was the day I delivered my twins via C-Section. On that day, I was 234 lbs. without any of my own doing. I mean, they just took 12 lbs. of kids out of me and all the other fluids, etc. So, today is the first time that I've gotten this thin through my own ways and means.
Also, today I am now at a weight where I qualify to sign up to be a bone marrow donor. It was many months ago and there was a story on yahoo about a young girl that had a terminal disease. She was a teenager and had posted a list of things she wanted people to do with their lives to carry on her memory. The #1 thing on her list was for people, if they were able, to register in the bone marrow donor list in their country. When I read that article, I was still nearly 300 lbs. and set a goal for myself to reach the required weight range for my height to sign up. I needed to be under 248 lbs. and I've made it! I'm ordering my cell collection kit for registering on Monday. I am so proud that I can do something that may some day help others. I would donate bone marrow in a heart beat even though I'm still a little ooky around needles.
Today, I've been coming to MFP for 95 days. That's more dedication that I've had going through most weight loss and health conscious sites. I'm glad to be here and happy that I have so many supportive and equally dedicated MFPers backing me.
I did my measurements today as well. In the past 6 weeks, I've lost a total of 6.75 inches throughout my body. Since I started this getting healthy thing in January, I had not done measurements. I only started in July when I began doing P90X (I completed that on October 19th). However, since July 20th, I've lost a total of 18 inches throughout my entire body - with a total of 3.5 inches per thigh, 2 inches at my waist and 2.5 inches at my hips. The most amazing part for me though is knowing that my calves were so huge when I started in January. Eventhough I don't have all over body measurements from the beginning of the year, I do know that each of my calves was at least 25 inches around. I know this because I bought the largest calf size boots available on the commercial market without having them custom made. They were 24 inches at the widest part and I had to soak newspapers in vinegar and stuff/stretch them each another 1 inch to get them to zip. So........ in January, my calves were 25 inches. Today, my calves are 19 inches!!!!!!!!!! That's 6 inches per calf for those of you who don't wanna do the math LOL
Next steps:
Fit into all of the size 16s that I own
Do one more day a week of strength training (I'm only doing 2 now and want to at least be at 3)
Eat cleanly on the weekends with consistency
Run for 1 minute without stopping
Get more sleep
