This isn't the first time i have been here. Had been here many years ago, life took over, changed and now I am back. I have found since then that I have a thyroid problem which has accounted for most of the weight I had packed on over the years. I lost the majority of that, have been sitting on a plateau for about 2 years with about a 10-15 lb fluctuation, mostly because of fluid and in the last year lower physical activity. I am only walking 1 mile instead of 2-3. I have moved myself from 700-1000 calories per day to a whopping 1400. Thankfully I have 4 nutritionists at my disposal because we work together and they have been very helpful in teaching me proper portion sizes and the food "plate" . Ok so I tell everyone they have ruined me because i now can visualize what a proper portion size is and boy do restaurants serve us far more than our bodies can handle at one time.

So I started at around 300 (I really don't know because I stopped looking at a scale) but I can tell you I was in a size 26. that was in 2005. In. 2006 I had lost about 10-15 lbs and stalled, was very discouraged and I was in a 24-26. At the end of 2007 I was about 250 when they figured out that my thyroid wasn't working right. My doctor said that if I hadn't been watching what i was eating all that time I would have been well over 400 lbs that was scary. I started loosing weight rapidly.

In 2008 I divorced and joined a gym. Because my ex and I had joint placement of the children, a 50/50 split, I had the opportunity to go every evening. They were with me during the day because i home schooled them and with their father at night to sleep. I started building muscle and my whole body started to change. I got down to 190 in 2009 and stalled. For over the last two years have been fluctuating between 190-210. Since 2005 I have gone from a size 26 to a 16.

My biggest challenge right now has been the loss of exercise. I took full custody of my children in 2010 and it had become impossible to keep up the daily exercise. I still walk a mile per day but it hasn't been enough to keep off the fluid or help my body lose any more weight. My meds have had to be adjusted twice and every time they need adjusting my weight starts to creep up.

Every day is a struggle to become a healthy person. But it is one I willingly struggle with.

Welcome back! I too was on here a few years ago and then had to stop, due to pregnancy and all the crazy things that go with it. I am back and this time I am determined to get the weight off and keep it off. Obesity runs on both sides of my family and I think that is what is keeping me motivated. Most of the people in my family have died young and I want to live long enough to see my two girls grow up and have a family of their own. I am glad you have made it back and I hope we both meet our goals!
