How to go from 2lbs to 1lbs?

Although there might have been several posts based on this, I'll still ask: How can I adjust my body to accept losing from 2 pounds to 1 pounds per week? My issue is that I'm soon close to my goal and I feel that I should slow down, but I'm not entirely sure.

Your body will know when it is ready to adjust. If you have that last ten lbs to lose, you should automatically go to one per wk or so. sometimes not even that much, sometimes more. I know, this is my third and final time losing and keeping it off!

I'd avoid the temptation to make the loss you're looking for happen faster than your body wants it to. Rushing the process usually backfires... Just listen honestly to your body and treat it well. It will treat you well in good time! Just keep being patient and keep working hard. You'll get there!

Okay, I don't know if this will work for you since we have different numbers.

I started out at lose 1 lb a week... every pound I lost MFP subtracted 10 calories, when I got to 1200 calories
I switched to lose 1/2 lb a week.
Then when I got to 5 lbs from my goal. I stopped letting MFP subtract calories when I lost.
and started adding back calories so I would be close to maintenance when I got to my goal.
(Yes, it was frustratingly slow, but I think it's really important to learn how to eat for life. If I can't maintain what was all the work for?)

Once I got to my goal, I went onto maintenance for 5 lbs less, because I expect it will take some trial and error before I find exactly what works for me. If I DO lose those last 5 lbs it will take almost a year losing at 0.1 lbs a week.
If I don't lose those last 5 lbs I'm still in the healthy weight category and a lot healthier than I was 30 lbs ago.
I'm a little bit afraid of over reaching and not being able to maintain. If I can't maintain what in my head is my ideal weight I at least want to maintain a healthy weight.

Check your goals page on the lower left corner it will tell you the rate you should be losing at which may be different from what you actually selected since MFP won't let you go below 1200 calories. If the rate of weight lose is less than the rate you selected jump down to the next catagory.

My advice is to not change your goal until you have plateaued and stop losing weight.

Congratulations on your weight-loss so far, and good luck on the rest of your journey! :flowerforyou:

Eat 20% less than your new maintenance calories.
Technically a pound of fat is 3500 calories but your at the end of your journey and your body is going to try to hold onto as much fat as it can.
Stick to the 20% cut below maintenance and start HIIT cardio runs!
    Good Luck!
