Hi,I am 52 and entering my food and exercise every day and my weight is staying the same. I have a trainer and he is kicking my butt Jillian Michaels style. I meet with him three days a week. I am doing cardio about 5 times a week anywhere from 45 min to 90 minutes. I play tennis twice a week. Anyone have any advise.

  • The only suggestion would lots of water. I was having the same problem and started drinking lots of water and I'm down 2lbs.
  • Are you sure you are eating enough?

I agree, they say on here not eating enough can actually have your body stop losing weight. Also, drink, drink, drink that water.
  • There can actually be a few reasons. One muscle weighs more then fat, you may not be losing pounds but may be losing Inches. Also it is best to have snacks throughout the day say every 2 1/2-3 hrs stopping 3-4 hrs before bedtime. Also if you want to kick up the metabolism replace one of your meals with boiled or baked fish. Especially salmon. This is atleast what I have learned over time. Hope it helps! Definitely also any water will flush your body of the sodium that is in alot of seasonings and food. Sodium retains alot of water weight

that's not quite true. Metabolism is just the rate at which your body burns calories. It's ALWAYS burning, even if you havn't eaten in days. But eating does rev it up and eating regularly will keep your metabolism running at a steady pace.

Thanks for replying it helps just to vent. I have probably not ate as much as I should. I will add more water and protein and see if that helps. Again Thank you.
  • I am at a plateau for the past 4 days and it is driving me crazy. I dont eat much protein. Could this be a reason why?

I have just added more protein in the form of protein shakes and I did finally lose weight. I exercise a lot and think I was not getting enough calories or protein. So up the protein and cardio you should lose then.
