I have 15-20 pounds to lose. I put in goal of 1 or 1-1/2 or 2 pounds to lose per week and it automatically defaulted to .5 per week? Why?

Maybe your not doing something right, I never had any problems.0

I'm assuming it bottomed out at 1200 calories a day. MFP won't go below 1200 calories/day because it's not medically safe.0

probably because it would have brought you to under 1200 calories a day. It did that to me.0

Because if you only have 15-20 pounds to lose, your body doesn't have enough fat stores to handle losing more than a half pound a week. MFP won't let you go lower than 1200 calories a day because it's darn near impossible for most people to get the nutrients they need on less than that.0

With that little to lose it's unrealistic to expect to lose more than .5 lb per week safely and the site doesn't support unhealthy weight loss.0
