self critic

When I started this journey, I was wearing 2XL shirts. Today I tried on a L and its borderline fitting me!

I want to fit into it so bad, and it doesn't look bad at all! My wife even told me that it looks good! But there's bad areas that show up that just haven't gone away just yet. Because of this, I'm hesitant to wear it...

Question:

How does one become more comfortable and less self conscious about themselves? How does one get over their biggest critic...themselves?

Looking good in cloths is completely new to me!

It takes time to become more comfortable, getting used to your new body... In reality, it never truly happens, by what I mean one is never 100% content, and you are likely to want to improve in small areas (yet, you've come a long way, so enjoy that!).

Still, something I find to be a great motivation is to look at pictures of the old me. Also, buying some new and fashionable clothes that fit properly and hide those "areas" ;-)

Once you stop worrying about these areas yourself, then people won't see them anymore.

It definitely takes time. I have lost 26 lbs but I still feel like I look like I did 26 lbs ago. I don't feel like I look any different even though my pant sizes say differently. I know I will get there eventually and so will you.
