I'm such a wuss  I have a cold - sore throat, incredible amount of mucus in my nose, no. energy. period. My elliptical is sitting in the corner mocking me. Should I try to exercise with this crud? Or can I take a break and let my body devote itself to getting rid of the Creeping Crap? It's been really hard to keep hydrated because I just. don't. want to eat or drink ANYTHING.

Also, how many calories are in throat lozenges?

  • I'd work out, I think it helps break up the mucus so you can spit it out. It's gross, but it always makes me feel better!!!

    Rest.
Let your body rid itself of The Creeping Crap.
If you expend all your energy exercising, there will be none left to get better.
Then you will be sick foreva.
    No fun.
    Get better soon. :flowerforyou:

I had fever yesterday. I skipped the gym, but today was a new day. I went, even though I am not 100%. Do what your body is telling you.
  • Take the day off, 2 if needed, sleep and drink lots of water.

Didn't you know? Throat lozenges BURN calories, so you don't have to exercise while you are sick!! Feel better soon!
  • I had it last week. Went to the gym on Monday, and that was it. was sick, dizzy, headache, nausea. So I stayed out of the gym, got over the crud and was back at it this Monday and other than a runny nose, i'm fine. so, take a break and recover quickly.

Aww, I'm sorry you're so sick.

I think you should listen to your body. If it was me, I'd *try* the elliptical and if it's just not working out, forget it.

Once I heard or read somewhere (don't know where, so this is by no means "official advice") that if your illness is just in your head (nose, throat, headache, etc) - then exercise. But if it has moved down into your chest, then don't exercise. I would probably take it a little easy though. Hope you feel better. :flowerforyou:

I have the same crap you have and I got on my bike and rode. Believe it or not, I felt better. I am now going for a walk after I took some cold meds. I hope you feel better soon. :flowerforyou:
