home gym-pics

In addition to my gym membership, I've used a section of my basement for a home gym when I am too lazy to leave the house. But I wanted it to be more inviting so I would enjoy working out down there more. So with a couple cans of paint and some self stick carpet tiles, voila I have a pretty new gym. I thought I would post a few pics....I'm very proud, my husband yacked about me needing his help, but I did this all myself, he didn't do a thing.

The before pic of when we moved in.....see yucky floor and cold, unwelcoming wall color

And after

Looks awesome! I just copied and pasted your links into new tabs and looked at the photos that way. Looked like a roach playhouse in the before for sure! But the after? Wowie! I'd never go to the gym (well for weights).

I LOVE the "stationary" bike! Awesome idea! All you need is a weight set and you are good to go! Cancel that ol' gym membership! :)

Thanks, it's from Ikea....really cheap, like 15 bucks. I needed a mirror so when my husband comes downstairs behind me, he won't scare the crap out of me when I have my headphones on.

Thanks. We actually just bought a resistance machine today that I can do 15 different weight training exercises on. It's coming next week. And we have a weight bench with a bunch of free weights, but it won't fit in the room so it's in another part of the basement.

I love my bike trainer....the first year I put my bike on in the winter and took it off for outdoor use, but we have since gotten better bikes, so I just leave the old one on there and presto, an instant permanent stationary bike. $100 for the bike from Target (or if you have an old bike laying around) and 80 for the trainer = $180 for a stationary bike. A much cheaper alternative. I also just bought a "bike trainer" DVD so I can watch scenery and stuff as I ride to cut down on boredom.
