A few days ago, I got the stomach flu (or some other virus). i didn't eat for 2 days and still felt a little sick even yesterday. When I finally started eating normally again, I noticed some strange things. Before I got sick, I had been struggling with binge eating disorder: every day I ate until I felt sick, and usually beyond this point. This went on for about 3 weeks to a month before I got sick. I was afraid I would fall back into the same habits; however, all of a sudden, nothing seems appealing. Some things, like rice cakes, wheat thins, and graham crackers make me sick to my stomach even when I think about them. most other foods just don't taste good anymore. i had a chocolate chip chewy granola bar today, and i used to love them. today though, it just tasted funny and was not appealing at all. i thought i wanted a little bit of chocolate after dinner, so I got some chocolate chips, but when i looked at the bag, I realized that I just didn't want them any more. (btw, before this deal, i was a HUGE chocoholic. i mean HUGE!!!) fruits and vegetables still taste ok though. i know i should probably be treating this as a miracle, because since these foods no longer taste good, i haven't been eating them and therefore have been avoiding binges. however, this just seems really strange to me. i mean, chocolate? really? i LOVED chocolate 5 days ago! so just wondering...has this happened to anyone else? if so, did you ever enjoy these foods again?

I've seen this happen to people after surgery. I know I had some problems with taste bud overgrowth after tonsillectomy. Yes, that can really happen. It could take a few weeks to get back to normal.
