Where can I cut calories?

Because my weight is pretty low compared to others (despite me being overweight for my height), my recommended daily calorie consumption to maintain my weight is 1600 calories. So even if I cut down to 1200 calories, or lower yet 1000 calories, my weight won't change that much.
I was wondering where in the day I can cut calories...? I do exercise, by the way!
Breakfast-Oats with lite milk and water, macadamia nuts and almonds (250 calories)
Morning snack-fruit/celery and carrot sticks (200)
Lunch- 2 slices multigrain bread and 1 can of tuna (250 calories)
Afternoon- glass of milk (Lite) and piece of fruit (250 calories)
Dinner- 2 slices bread + lentils 1 bowl+ salad (350 calories)

Add an extra 150 calories from pointless snacking , and minus 200 calories from exercise...

    Almond milk or soy milk instead of lite milk in the afternoon with your fruit.

    I would say add a bit more exercising... what you are eating is good...

    Use low calorie bread. The multi-grain stuff is really good for you but packs in about 100 calories per slice. There are lots of 50-60 calories per slice options available.

    Do you really need the 2 slices of bread with the lentils? Lentils are pretty filling on their own.

    I'm surprised the fruit+milk snack is coming to 250 calories. Most fruit is under 100. I don't drink milk so I don't know what the calorie count on that is, but you could always replace that with fat free plain yogurt if that's where most of the calories in your snack are coming from.

    I think what you are eating is awesome. You could cut one of the pieces of bread with the lentils. Switch to light bread and maybe go to skim milk. But if you are eating that way and exercising, your metabolism should burn with no problem. Watch the salad dressing with that salad and make sure it's low fat and eat the recommended serving.

    I've found that a certain amount of food is necessary for me to feel full - perhaps you don't need to cut calories, but to burn more of what you're eating. Dieting without exercise is also more likely to lead to rebound weight gain. What you're eating looks great.
  • I too snacked on macadamian nuts, too much salt for me, it had me retaining water, and speaking of water...are you getting in your water per day? Also...sometimes I have to shock my system into thinking I am going back to my old eating habits, so I eat more calories, or change my diet habits I have come to be comfortable with. I usually always lose weight in a few days. Just some things I do, which you are different than any of us here, I hope this helps you tho. Wishing you much success.

    Change your goal to 0.5lbs per week as you've only got a small amount left to lose.

    Then when you exercise, eat your exercise calories as well

    Increase in activity, or in the intensity of the activity you're already doing would probably be healthier, your cals are already pretty low.

    Perhaps replace some of the carbs with more protein? I find I stay full longer and keep my unplanned snacking down when I eat more protein.
  • maybe cut down on the bread especially with the lentils.

    Instead of cutting more calories, try adjusting your ratios of carbs/protein/fat. Your main sources of protein for the day are the tuna, lentils, and nuts. Try replacing some of that bread/oats you are eating with more protein rich foods like eggs or meat.
  • Why Macadamias in the morning??? They are the fattiest nut around!
    I'd cut those out and just have them as a treat once a month if necessary.

    Fruit with oats is so much nicer and better for you :)
