yep, pee test! next, relax, sometimes stress can make you late and if you have been putting a lot of pressure on yourself over diet and exercise it can happen. your body fat has to be pretty low to miss periods due to exercise so don't worry about that. rule out the obvious first and do a pee test. anything healthwise going on? thyroid problem or anything?

    Pee test.

    This.
I'm sorry I have nothing else to give. I thought it should keep you regular unless you've made a drastic change which has put your body in shock!

It's normal for your moon to be messed up by weight loss, especially 28 pounds in a month! Great job! Stress and any weight loss pills can effect it too.

Dieting and exercise cause a big change in cycle because your body is learning a whole new way

Yes I can almost always bet I will start in the 2nd of every month.

Is there any chance you could be expecting? If you have been abstinent, then don't worry, sometimes you just don't ovulate. And sometimes you'll be 10 days early! Crazy, hectic life.

There is a book called "Fertility, Cycles & Nutrition" it's very insightful!

Drastic changes in diet can affect your hormones. If there's no chance of pregnancy, I'd say your body is just adjusting to your new routine.

I would suggest talking to your doctor then. It could be nothing, but it could also be something, y'know? Drastic changes in your cycle can be indicative of a lot of problems, some insignificant, some big. Hopefully, it's just a bad month

When I first started working out my normal week long heavy was a three day drip. It was like it was not even fully there. But It was because my body was going into changes and my body got stressed out because of it. Just relax and it will eventually come. If it doesn't by the next time it should hit I would recommend seeing your doctor. And everyone that keeps telling her to pee on a stick read above, she has been fixed lol. I will hope it comes for you, I know how stressing it can be to wonder where it went.

    I'm fixed!!!:blushing:

Pee on a stick anyway. It is extremely rare, but one can get pregnant after being fixed.

It's not uncommon to stop cycling when you pick up a really demanding workout routine, especially if you weren't very regular to begin with. Not a bad idea to check in with a gyno, but you're probably fine. Any idea what your body fat percentage is?

Lots of excercise can cause irregularity.

Working out is causing you to be late...it will be back. I wouldn't stress too much.

    Hi,
just relax, your body & mind are going through some changes. Keep doing what you're doing & if you miss next month as well then maybe consider seeing the doc but I'm sure it's nothing. This sort of stuff happens. I remember a doc telling me once you can miss one after just going on a plane trip cause it messes with your body and mind! lol.

stress will definately get it off... also losing weight and exercise/dieting can too, that is why alot of SERIOUS athletes don't have periods sometimes until they stop training, etc. but a pee test is a good idea... just be aware you can have a false negative, but you can never have a false positive (I had a pharmacist tell me that)
Good luck and keep up your hard work!

    Huh?

HCG: a hormone produced by pregnant women which is what's used to determine pregnancy. It's also a dangerous weight loss supplement.

I am absolutely not taking hcg or any other supplements. And if I weren't fixed I would be worried about being pregnant. The only other thing would be my diet change.

My periods are all over the place, too. DH is fixed so I never worry about being preggo, but it does get annoying trying to keep track of things. I have run 4 marathons and every time I get close to running one my periods get REALLY messed up, then it takes a couple months for them to get back ton track.

BTW, we started at a very similar place. I'm 5'5" and my highest weight was 167 (about 6 years ago). I also thought I needed to lose about 25-30lbs. My original goal weight was 135. Got close, realized I didn't feel done, revised to 125. Hit 125 last October, still didn't feel "done" and am shooting for 115 and to qualify for the Boston Marathon. :) Currently at 123, size 4 and feeling fantastic. Best of luck on your weight loss journey.

Wish I had a better answer for your messed up cycles. I talked with my ob/gyn and she said short of going on a hormonal birth control, she had no solution for me.

Diet and exercise can definatly do this, I have not menstrated properly for 4 years. i can go 6+ months at a time with nothing ( my dr knows this....) I'm in recovery from amorexia and have learnt alot about this.
Any new stress on the body be it good or bad can alter you cycle. even flying over 8 hours on a air plane can alter your cycle.

    I wouldnt worry yet :)

  • Thanks for asking this! I am 26 days late and still going.. I should have bought stock in pregnancy tests, not trying to get pregnant but what the heck?!

I have lost 20 pounds in the last 8 weeks, I never thought I'd actually MISS my period!
