I seem to be under my 1200 cals everyday. I don't want to eat junk just to bump up the calorie count but i'm struggling to hit it everyday. Is this a bad thing?
Also i have been exercising everyday so my deficit will be even bigger!

Yes you should really have more calorie dense food such as nuts and olive oil to get your calories up0 -
up your protein?0

Hi, I am in the same boat as you are and I am doing the 30 Day Shred plus 25 min walk every day but I have not lost any weight.
I think that is because I am gaining muscle.
I see the difference in my body changing so that is a good thing.
I will see in a week if there is any change on the scales.
I also have been looking at other people's posts and most of them say you should eat your calories that you are supposed to - for example mine is 1240 each day and most of the time I dont eat that many. I am trying to eat the 1240 from now on to see if it makes a difference.0 -
If all else fails, have a candy bar.0

I just had a quick look at your diary - maybe you should switch out your diet yoghurt in the morning for non-diet, and put a little extra cheese in your omelette (i'm assuming it's an omelette for lunch). Or have milk with your cereal along with the yoghurt. You're not out by much each day so I wouldn't go too crazy - unless you're still hungry of course!! There's always a protein bar or shake that you could add in to up your cals for the day - protein helps to keep you full and also helps repair those muscles that you injure during strength workouts.
I get a lot more calories than you and I struggle to meet my goals most days - because I tend to go over!! I wish I could stick to such a strict program like you do!0 -
I am on a 1200 cal diet, under my doctors care...and yes right now i average 1000 to 1100 a day. I get my bloodwork done...and have been trained to eat healthy...and all results are excellent....and my doc is very happy and satified with my progress and supports me 100%.
and it's true...less cals will put you in a deficit hence burn more fat...but...that's what I want...i do have the fat to burn...not everyone does...and why so many get up in arms when going below 1200 cal.
I have enegy to boot... so i have no problem there...friday i went to the gym did 45 on the treadmill, 5 minutes on the incumbant..lifted weights...swam for an hour, walked 7K then 30 min on exercise bike..sat i walked 11K then danced my *kitten* off at a party...then sunday, a 4K walk, then i walked to the gyms did 30 on the treadmill, 5 on incumbant, weights, 1hr in the pool, 30 on bike ...in those days i lost 3 pounds and feel FANTASTIC. HEALTH IS WEALTH i say...and i am getting there...my goal I WILL achieve!! If I can do it ANYONE CAN!!! keep focused and committed...you WILL succeed!!
Best of luck in your journey!!0 -
Depends on your height... if you are short (like me) its less of a problem but if you are exercising then try eating a high protein snack or similar. I eat almonds and dried apricots. Wholenut peanut butter on toast is another option. I understand that the key is to eat this immediately after exercise to help your body recover.0

i wish that's my cASE! it's better than overeating or not hitting your calorie goal /.... honestly nuts olive oil and fruits usually shoot my calories up!! so try that0

You don't have to 'eat junk' to bump up the calorie count. Eat calorically dense foods like avocado, nuts, nut butters, olive oil and full fat dairy.0 -
you should eat at least 1200 calories a day - that is basically what your body needs on a daily basis to function.
as previous people said add some health oils to your diet - almonds, cold pressed virgin cocnut oil, olive oil, avocados are a good way to get calories in while getting all the good fats your body NEEDS
when you are exercising - especially everyday with the 30 day shred - if you don't feed your body it will start go work less efficently because it won't know when it will be fueled
Also remember a lb of fat is the same weight as a lb of muscle - BUT a lb of fat takes up a much greater volume - so if you are eating right and wworking out then you are hopefully burning up excess fat - so it may be slow to come off just looking at the scale - but simply loosing a few lbs of fat could make a dramatic difference in your body shape - the best way to gauge is to take measurements or use a pair of pants/jeans that don't fit as of right now vs looking at a scale0
