Hi Guys,

I have been on ebay looking at HRM's and there is just so many to choose I'm a bit confused?? Hubbie is only new to the whole world of MFP and fitness he is walking for an hour every night and just wants to be able to record exactly how many calories the walk is burning my budget is about €100.

I don't want to go to fancy as my hubby tends to do these things for a few months and then give up - I really hope this is not the case!!! Anyway he has asked for the HRM for Xmas and hopefully it will keep him motivated so please can people suggest which one I should buy him.

Thanks in advise I would be lost without my MFP advise and support!!

Polar is an excellent brand. You can get a good one for less than $100. Make sure it has a chest strap.

If he is a techie, you might want to think about a Polar Heartlink or the Zephyr HxM. They are bluetooth HRMs that send signals directly to a smartphone and their are several apps for tracking and trending. I'd love to see MFP incorporate these readings in the future.

I have a polar and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! It is a great brand with a wonderful informative website. You can link your calories burned to the web for tracking. You can buy them for $100 or less on AMAZON.COM. Cheaper than the stores sometimes....

just bght a Zephyr HXM HRM. It is Bluetooth. I am very new to all this. I love this HRM. I have android phone and paired it up with Sports Tracker Pro (the one by STL-If you get this just pay the $5 and get the pro version) The pairing was simple and I can upload eveything and do thorough analysis. I have only used it while cycling so far. I think it will make a great present

I bought the Garmin F60 watch, chest strap and foot pod as a bundle on Amazon a year ago, and I use it every single day. Might be a teensey bit over budget, but I think it's worth every penny
