  • I'd love to have the hummus recipe, I was thinking just this morning that I'd like to take hummus to Thanksgiving.

This is the one I use: http://tastykitchen.com/recipes/appetizers-and-snacks/simple-and-spectacular-homemade-hummus/

i would LOVE to make almond milk at home, but holy balls, almonds are expensive!!!

I definitely don't use it as my primary goto for milk, but when I want to make an almond mocha or have a nice treat....Also, I make sure to use the "rind" of the almonds by mixing it into my homemade cereal before baking it....cereal is another thing I make from scratch. :)

Deodorant, dishwasher detergent, dish soap, laundry soap soon, wash my fair with baking soda water and diluted Apple cider vinegar, going to make lotion, making yogurt right now and another batch of cheese (queso fresco) tomorrow.
From www.crunchybetty.com, the yogurt is from http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/2008/10/you-can-make-yogurt-in-your-crockpot.html?m=1

You may be the coolest person I know.

I peel some tomatos, squeeze out the seeds and throw them in the blender with onion, garlic, herbs and any other veggies that I may have in the fridge but won't have time to use. Then heat it in a pan, it's delicious! But it doesn't really stick to the noodles so if you want something a little more "sticky" I would add a little tomato paste to that.

i make an easy one *for me)

    two cans crushed tomatoes
    2 stalks celery, chopped
    1 onion chopped
    2 garlic cloves minced
    2 medium carrots, chopped
    1-2 bayleafs
    itailan seasoning
    salt
    pepper

throw in the onion and garlic in a pan and sautee with some olive oil until frgrant and onions are slightly soft, then add celery and carrots and cook until carrots are slightly soft. Add in tomatoes, bayleave, your choice of italian seasonings, salt and pepper, cover and let it cook for about an hour. you can put some of it in a blender for a smoother texture, or all of, and enjoy!

I used to buy a lot of frozen meals (Lean Cuisine, Healthy Choice, etc.) and soups to heat up for lunch at work. Now I make my own at home using better ingredients. Tastes better and is better for me!

The next step will be making my own stock/broth.
