I have been going to a personal trainer for 5 months. I have only lost 8 or 9 pounds in this entire time period, which is discouraging. But today, at the end of my session, my trainer told me we had to do our push-ups. I was figuring I would have to bang out about 25 max, but he said, "Let's do 50. No knees." :-O I told him there was NO EFFING WAY I could do 50 push-ups without stopping, and that I could probably not even do 30 at that point (after working out hard for 30 minutes and tiring my arms). He said, start out without knees and if you have to, you can switch.
Well, I banged out 50 full-on push-ups without stopping, and I just couldn't believe I did that. I have NEVER in my life been able to do that! I was really, really proud of myself :-) I knew I was getting a lot stronger, but wow, I really didn't think I could do that. I surprised myself.
