What are your views on Negative Calorie foods and do you think they actually work?

For those that don't know:
It's when a food takes more energy (calories) to digest, than the actual piece of food, therefore, you lose calories when you eat it.

Don't believe there is such a thing. Pretty sure this is an urban myth.

just remember to log everything anyway as digestion is already calculated in your daily activity level, so even a negative calorie food needs to be logged as the digestion portion is already considered, so you need the intake portion to be added to have the full picture.

I just eat them because I consider them low calorie snacks. I log them in my diary and account for them in my daily calorie allowance.

Don't buy into any hype; exercise and eat healthy and stay under your calorie goals and you WILL lose weight. There aren't any tricks.

Let's assume it's possible. You'd probably be talking about -5 calories at most. It just doesn't matter.
  • what would be an example of a negative calorie food? I have never hear of such a thing before

Celery is one that they always mention. There are some others. I don't believe it though.

If there is such a thing as negative calorie foods why can't it be ice cream or chocolates or pizza for crying out loud. Life is soooo unfair!
